Cosy rooms, homely, friendly staff. Food was average(was disappointed with the Chicken Boursin, but rib eye steak was quite good) Decent spread for breakfast. Hotel residents can drink all night long. I would stay here again.

This is a very old hotel that goes back to 1711 and recently modernised. This work road trip was a while ago but as I remember it, this hotel was near the heart of Eton and surrounded by Antique Shops, Art Galleries, Bars and close to Eton College. Eton – hence the tuxedo clad 13 year olds. There’s a pedestrian bridge from Royal Windsor Castle over the Thames– swan watching, a break from staring at monitors at our Bracknell design centre. I was OK with the rooms, but my tall colleague had some problems with hitting his head on the sometimes low overhang(the English were that short in 1700s?) Standard room ammenites like Internet Wi-Fi, laptop safe and a contraption to press your pants are all there for ya. My hotel room was clean, simple and are equipped home comforts. Christopher’s Bar and Grill offers all day dining with a relaxed informal imbibing.

A totally pleasant hotel close to all the sights and only seven miles from Heathrow. Dating from 1711 but the rooms are beautifully modern as are all the facilities. Wonderful staff and an excellent Bar/Grill. You’ll get first class service and ll for under £100 a night. What more can you ask this far south.
