Love the place, great for families, work or romance. Menu is regularly changed and the food and service is always excellent. They have an early bird Monday to Thursday that is unbeatable on price as well.

The restaurant is a bit too big but it’s lovely inside and has a nice Italian feel. It’s great for couples because they seat you away from the families and large parties. Great if you hate snot nosed kids. However it’s best to avoid the place on a match day coz you won’t be able to get in. I’m serious. Similarly it’s quite annoying to hear every Wiganer on EVERY table going: «OMG Daaaave Wheeelan’s in!!!» With approving looks to diners they don’t even know. 1. I don’t care about Daaaave Wheeeelan, I’m here to enjoy my meal. Crane your necks back in folks! 2. I think the frequent presence of Daaave Wheeelan is the reason why it gets so many diners. Which is a shame because not all of us want to stare at Dave like he’s some goldfish. I think due to it’s size and Dave Whelan’s god almighty like presence iare the reasons why it lacks the friendliness you get in much smaller family run places. The foods good, really good infact but because of the amount of diners it’s quite hard to get the attention of a waiter if you need more drinks, or to get the bill. I prefer waiters to come over and ask if I’m ready for the bill. In Rigalettos you’ll just be sat around waiting, like a lemon. They just walk right past you like they don’t want to be bothered most of the time. If you’re a fan of Dave Whelan then this is a GREAT place. However if you’re looking for service with a smile then probably not for you. In my case I don’t have too much luck with Italian restarants in Wigan.

If you are looking for a small, family run authentic italian restaurant then Rigaletto’s probably isn’t for you. The restaurant is located in the west stand at the JJB Stadium which is home to Wigan Athletic and Wigan Warriors, it’s worth checking if there is a game on before you book! The restaurant is large and decorated to a reasonable standard, the food is decent and the staff do a reasonable job. Unfortunately Rigaletto’s lacks the charm of a small family run Italian restaurant and fails to create the atmosphere that makes these places so appealing, there are better Italian restaurants to visit in Wigan.
