The Cleve Spa & Conference Centre

We stayed here for a weekend spa break and would recommend it heartily, with caveats.
So what it is: a small, friendly spa hotel with conference facilities, pool, gym, restaurant, bar etc. But all on the titchy/​personal side, rather than the opulent/​corporate side.
What that means in practice: for an away spa break with treatments it was great value. All staff were very friendly and accomodating. And overall we had a lovely, relaxing time. BUT a) it’s easy to see it getting really crowded one big hen/​wedding party and the hotel and spa would feel very crammed quickly, b) the restaurant turned out lovely light lunches, but evening meals were old-​school pub fare (for instance, lovely fresh vegetables were dolloped on top of a pre-​made pizza base etc.). Those caveats aside, was great location with beautiful views, quiet room and generally wonderful all round.
