Was brought here this afternoon by friends who live close by. Food — when it finally came — was excellent. Service, however, was horrendously slow. Because we hadn’t booked, we were asked to wait while a table became free, even though it appeared there was always space in the restaurant area; we concluded this was a ploy to get money across the bar for pre-lunch drinks. Our order was taken reasonably promptly, but we then waited probably 45 minutes for the meals to arrive. Again, I emphasise they were not especially busy, from what we could see. Refilled drinks were ordered and did not arrive until a second request. When an apology for the initial delay was given(only once the meals had arrived), it didn’t seem sincere. And finally, why do places like this persist in allowing their staff to address customers as «guys»?

Im obliged to give this place one star. It does not deserve one but I have to give one in order to leave a review. I cannot find a single positive thing to say about te Crows Nest. Frozen food very badly cooked by untrained staff following a wall chart. Not a professional in sight and unsurpriisingly it attracts a lot of people who seem to have no idea how to behave or respect other customers when«„dining out“». Just plain awful.

Crows Nest Restaurant is located a little outside of Tring town centre towards Aston Clinton. It is joined to a premier travel inn which I can also recommend as a hospitable place to stay. The crows nest is often surprisingly busy, especially on special occasions such as Christmas Eve or New Years Eve. Beer and wine and spirits are reasonably priced and staff are always warm and welcoming. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a tasty beverage a little outside of Tring then the Cows Nest Restaurant is the palce for you. The food however, is mediocore, but not too bad.
