As a rule of thumb I don’t normally eat anywhere that has a large menu. So this is more my own fault… However me and my wife ordered different enchiladas. Both came to our table in record time… Not so good because everything was piping hot… With crust bits on the bean mush… I asked if this had been microwaved and I was told ‘oh no we don’t microwave food, it is already prepared fresh(?), then we put the plate in a big oven, that’s not a microwave’… Read in to that what you will, but the moisture on the edge of my plate was a give away. Not worth the £13 per meal. Oh and I hope the man I saw with blue latex gloves blue dirty tracker bottoms and dirty white tshirt was not part of the kitchen staff… But watching get something from behind the bar did not make my meal suddenly taste any better.

Decidedly average. Staff were friendly, but that is about all I can say about it. The food was fine, nothing special, but the cocktails were poor. If you’ve eaten at a Las Iguanas, you will have had a better version of this place, but for less money. Not horrible, just not worth going twice. Have given it 3 stars instead of 2 because, as I say, the staff were nice.

I googled this restaurant as I planned my visit to Torquay. I definitely think that the waiters in Jingles are friendly, and the food is delicious which is beyond doubt! Though a bit pricey, it is really near the union street area(Town centre) and the variety of food and drinks sold is quite satisfying indeed! I have tried their desserts too and was made equally good as the food =]

Me and my wife have eaten here for quite a few years now and without a doubt this is one of the best restaurants around, the food is fantastic especialy the cajun chicken, spare ribs, faijtas, breaded camebert and they do a lovely slice of garlic bread in fact every bit of food i have had there has been 10 out of 10. The service is always good and the restaurant is always clean. Value for money is exellent, you might think it is a little pricey however me and my wife have never manged to eat a full three courses yet so you only end up paying for a two courses. If there is one problem with jingles is that it can be a little over run with parties/groups but trust me this is only a small problem once you’ve tasted the food

Jingles is a very authentic mexican serving virtually anything from tex mex to american burgers and rice dishes, they cater for large parties fantastically and even sell their merchandise, we tried crocodile here. They are situated by the harbour in torquay a little bit up the high street on the main parade of nightclubs, this however does not spoil the dining experience. They sell fantastic frozen margaritas

You may have read our review of Amigos the other smaller tex-mex in town, well fair is fairtime for a review of the big boy near the harbourside. Having made the effort to book, knowing how very busy this restaurant is we were seated fairly quickly in this bussling, noisey restaurant, we then had plenty of time to read and decide on our menu choices since our small tucked away table was obviously off the main radar of the waiting staff.(2 men in their forties are obviously not deemed to be probably good tippers, unlike the screaching hen and stag parties and company night out types!) Having finally managed to get an order taken and drinks brought to us when the food arrived it was so poorly presented that I could best describe my plate of Chimichanga as being more reminiscent of Jimmy Chunda to utillise an australianism. Quite apart from looking unappetising the food was also surprisingly bland and the drab selection of bought in sweets did not inspire me to indulge my chocolate fixation at all, in fact I was happy to escape this restaurant and vowed never to recommend it again.
