Decent size pub in the heart of Tonbridge a stone throw from the castle, inside is a fair size of plenty of seating areas and a conservatory chillout area. Atmosphere was chilled staff also pretty helpful well I thought so, they have a great aray of cocktail and food was okay. Worth having a pint here if you’re in the area.

Great place and menu. Very popular but then its maybe the only decent place in Tonbridge. Its hard to believe that Tonbridge has such a lack of good pubs.

Well lets put it this way this is the best Tonbridge has to offer. Its a good Weatherspoons but nothing special. Beer is more expensive than most. Very popular but then its the only decent place in town. Its hard to believe that such a town has such a lack of quality pubs.

Went there on Friday afternoon after watching Royal Weddingon TV. The drinks are always inexpensive therefore affordable and if there’s a non-drinker they don’t get ripped off on the soft drinks. Food is cheap and cheerful. I had steak and kidney pudding, chips and mushy peas for £4.30 and there was nothing wrong with it at all. Would recommend. Lovely beer garden out back but crammed with smokers most of the time!

Nice food, something for everyone including gluten free hard-to-please people. Could do with a fair trade menu. Heard that you don’t get served unless there are 3 people waiting at the bar… wonder if anyone else has experienced this. There is no sign saying whether the Company supports the Low Pay Commission. Good value, and lovely in the summer, but to be avoided on Saturday and Friday nights when the teenage boozers go in and try and trash the place!

Last time I revisited this old place, mid-week, mid-day I was greated by the heart warming sight of some young balihoo launching a chair at the bar after being thrown out after the barman took offense to him buying alcohol to his underage pregnant girlfriend. Lest I become a snob and look further down my nose at this soon to be hooded fellow, I shall move on to writing about the actual place It’s a Wetherspoons pub and so I suspect you’ll get the idea of what it has to offer very quickly. The building was formerly the main Post Office building in Tonbridge, then a Quasar laser game, then the heaving alchoholic monstricity that is the pub it still is today. Cheap and soulless are the buzzwords of the Wetherspoons franchise and well they do them. Many a night I’ve lost under endless rounds of black sambuca chased by gallons of unwholesome rums and whiskeys. Never a stable foot leaves this place and nor should it for who would want to remember what lies outside.Tonbridge.

Best pub in Tonbridge. Lovely surroundings, cheap food and drink, what more could you ask for. I have eaten here a few times and have been pleasantly surprised by the standard of food. Good selection of food and drinks. On Friday and Saturday evenings there is bouncers outside and the huge interior seems to be full, so a great place for the younger ones in the evening.

This place does the best breakfasts nicely cooked, lots of it and cheap too. Lunchs are very nice and fast to be made. In the evening the place turns into a busy pub with cheap drinks and a great atmosphere. During the day children are allowed which makes it very nice. It also has a really nice garden heated in the winter and a nice place to relax in ther summer. I have not yet had a bad visit.

Back in its heyday, the wetherspoons chain was one of the best. Trouble is they then went downhill, with most pubs leaking like a sieve, and needing urgent work. However my impression of the Humphrey bean are somewhat different– it’s big, clean, and airy. It makes a change to walk into wetherspoons and actually want to sit inside. You would think they just did the place up, but i have been informed not. the staff are friendly, and know how to serve a pint. you get a good choice of drinks, what with there being a few handpumps avaliable. there is also the option of sitting outside in the large garden. the garden itself is very clean and inviting. definately worth a visit.
