can be a lot of fun if you’ve just polished off your last bottle of co-ops finest pino grigio and youve jus rung your mate for another ticket of buges, oh n it has to be 4 am no earlier no later

I’ve always known riki tiks as the after party place to go whenever everything else was shut. So it would be the place we would end up until 5am on a Friday or Saturday night. Having now aged a few years, my 5am nights are well and truly over but I was really looking forward to stepping back into riki tiks once again. Little bit gutted that it’s moved however it’s still got the swings which bought back memories! Started off with a feisty rum punch which certainly woke me up after a long day. I ordered the coconut chicken curry and a side of plantain. The plantain came first, was a little softer than I usually like it but still tasty none the less. Them my curry came. A massive dish filled with rice, beans and my curry. This was so flavoursome although would have liked a little bit more meat and less rice but still very tasty. I tried my friends goat curry which was really good too, and not as much bone in as usual which was good. Found out they do a Caribbean roast on a Sunday which I’d love to try as don’t think anywhere in Brighton does a Caribbean roast anymore. Might not be somewhere I go on a Friday or Saturday night(more because I think the seafront is full of young kids nowadays… Feel too old now!) but will definitely try out the Sunday roast, and if they offer takeaway in the summer then that’ll be something I go for.
