If you fancy a trip to a modern, contemporary Indian restaurant offering the highest quality food then this is the place to be. You will be served on the Veloroy and Boch plates and dishes by very friendly and attentive staff. The décor is exceptional and Contemporary. When the food comes out they are an excellent portion size, with the highest quality of meat I have ever had at an Indian restaurant. The menu is nicely styled and extensive you are spoilt for choice! I will definately be returning for this high quality dining experience. My friend and I were very impressed.

Arrived at Panache in Sutton Coldfield last Saturday for my friend’s birthday(table of 8) for 19:30. Overall the décor inside this restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing, although slightly tacky! We were greeted and taken to our table promptly & politely(just as you’d expect from a high class curry house). It took 25 minutes for one of the waiters to acknowledge our presence before our drinks order was taken(and the restaurant was only half full at the time). It took a further 10 minutes before the waiter came back with our drinks and for him to take our food orders, popadoms also arrived(35 minutes after we sat down). Starters: Not a good start when they arrived 1 hour and 10 minutes after we arrived in the restaurant. We shared 2 sharing appetizer platters between the 4 of us, 1x Kebab platter &1x Fish Platter. The meat & quality of the kebab platter was very good(but not excellent) it was well cooked and had a lot of natural flavours. The Fish platter was also very good, again it was well cooked and had all the right taste and spices, especially the sword fish! But the quantity of both starters were like child portions, and for £8.95 for the kebab platter & £12.95 for the fish platter, this is extremely over priced, not many people would even be satisfied having a platter each, never mind sharing one! The other 4 members of our party were satisfied with their starters but disappointed with their portion sizes. Mains: I ordered a Garlic Chilli Chicken(on recommendation from the waiter, I wanted a hot curry with lots of sauce and spices). When the dish finally arrived(40 minutes later) it was of warm temperature and it looked like it hadn’t seen the cooking pan for about 10 minutes(all the ghee had floated to the top of the curry). It tasted very cheap(that’s been generous), considering it was meant to be a chilli curry it only had a very slight kick to it, the chicken part to the curry tasted processed, it seems like the chicken was added to the curry afterwards and had not been marinating in the spices. Overall a tasteless curry that would of tasted better if they used a supermarket jar! The other mains were pretty much the same when it came to the heat and the meat element part, apart from the Sizzling Masala Lamb, which was average(as to way below average for the other dishes) in taste, and it was temperature hot(probably due to the fact that it was served on a sizzling platter) but for £13.95 for the sizzling dish it’s still well over priced for the quality you receive. Sides: The rice sides tasted ok although they weren’t the warmest, and the Nan breads tasted good, even though they were slightly over cooked. Dessert: We didn’t even attempt a 3rd dish after what we had experienced from the first two, we also presumed they would of been frozen judging by what they had to offer(they offered nothing different from what you’d get in the very cheapest of curry houses). Overall the experience was terrible and in my opinion definitely not worth a visit, especially as it’s the second time I had been there(the first time was just as bad), I only went back due to a friend’s birthday and I thought I’d give them a second chance, but never again! This is an expensively(but somewhat tacky) decorated restaurant with cheap tasteless dishes, very poor service and extremely high prices, highly recommend not going! The overall bill for 8 people including 1 bottle of wine, 8 beers &4 soft drinks was £264(£33 each).
