Large open plan pub with a friendly upmarket old school feel. A selection of ales and a good range of other drinks along side offers during happy hours and with food. Quiz night every Sunday and staff are welcoming and relaxed when chatting or serving customers. Dog friendly and right on the high street so very convenient. Burger offer good value and food typical pub fair.

Nice atmosphere and a friendly attitude from the staff. Enjoyed no more than a bowl of chunky chips when I ate there, but they were delicious and a nice change from the french fries you seem to get at other pubs nowadays.
They also boast a wide range of drinks to select, both alcoholic and soft, so all around, a very nice bar. I look forward to visiting again!

Overall this is a great pub. The food is really good and the beer selection is great. We loved the atmosphere and taking our teenaged sons here wasn’t an issue. They even found several things on the menu they enjoyed. The one thing that kept this from being a five-​star rating was the staff was not all that friendly. They weren’t rude but it just seemed they could have been a bit more helpful and friendly.

Very much enjoyed a wild boar burger here for lunch yesterday and the lamb looked very good too. Good range of alcohol for all tastes and the service was generally good (hampered in part by the place’s popularity as it was busy). Decently priced but the cheeseboard could be improved. Despite it coming with 5 types rather than the advertised 4 it wasn’t that exciting, the apple sauce or whatever it was didn’t make for the best accompaniment and we ran out of crackers before we’d eaten all the cheese.
