Been here multiple times. I liked it as a local. Can’t remember much 4 years later… but good times were had… I know that much!

This is a good modern place to go and get a drink and a bite to eat. The food is quite good and they have offers on. It’s quite cheap, especially if you have a Varsity card which gets you 25% off. They only cost a pound so you make your money back quite quickly. It’s quite big but does get packed at the weekends and on Mondays when it is two pound in with a varsity card and then there are student drinks offers on. They also show the football matches, although it does get very busy when Sunderland are on, and you’ll find it difficult to get a seat.

Right in among the bars Varsity is always a popular spot. The prices are reasonable and the food is good as bar food goes. Split over two floors with a huge screen showing live sports this is a popular choice for students and the football pre/​post match crowd.
