Las Vegas Grill

The Mrs and I invaded a day trip to Southend with some really lovely East End OAPS. We had a WWII Medley and sing along on the way there and best of the 60s playing on the way back on the coach. Brilliant.
Las Vegas Grill is the first chippie you see if you’re walking down to the seafront from the coach park so it’s brilliantly places for those desperately wanting their favorite deep fried fishes.
After a surprisingly sunny day on the beach and in the arcades (so surprising I didn’t bring suncream and came home a lovely shade of lobster) we needed to get some fish and chips in. No trip to Southend is complete without it.
On previous visits I’ve normally gone a bit further away from the town and found some nice chippy gems, but we were in a bit of a rush and this place seemed quiet.
As with all the chippies along this strip it’s massive and has most of the seating hidden for off peak season. It’s all full of plastic tables and chairs, dodgy salt shakers and very dated. But that’s all part of the charm right?
Las Vegas Grill is not the cheapest option on the strip because of it’s location. The Fish and Chips come out on a fish shaped plate!!! Inspired. However the downside it tartar sauce in packets. Is always a sad sight in a proper Fish and Chip Joint,
My Mrs and coworkers enjoyed theirs more than I did. I’ve personally had better. The Chips were a tad soggy for me and the fish a bit bland. However pleasant enough.
There was a lovely waitress there that day who was just lovely. Proper service with a smile and couldn’t do enough. That extra Star is for her!
