Lovely little place in the heart of Shrewsbury. Near Tanners wine shop and across the road from a big car park-so good if you haven’t got much time and want a quick bite to eat. Apparently you can stay here too, but I don’t know anything about the rooms. Despite the fact it was Saturday lunchtime, on this occasion we found a seat easily. We were served quickly, but perhaps because we didn’t order starters, we waited over half an hour for our food. I had pork belly with mash, my dad had pigeon and my mum Caesar salad-we all really enjoyed it. The complimentary soda bread was really fast too:)

Sits with mr and mrs smith boutique hotel — it has a nice feel to the place but service is relatively cold and unprofessional. I have not been to any other place in Shrewsbury, good is decent and quite tasty — quite average by London standard but thinking it is a small town outside, the food may be quite sophisticated and unusually great quality, I got a 3 course meal — not bad deal.

One word description: tastyquality A little surprised to find Unilocal has not penetrated into darkest Shrewsbury. From the outside a little too sweet perhaps. We wandered in to have a beer and check out the menu… perfect hoppy pale ale. Menu(see photo) looked good enough to eat. So we tried the sardines and the duck pâté. Both really really good. Very tasty. Prepared with care. Good bread. Great service. Excellent wine list(more or less same price by the glass as by the bottle). Space, light, ambience: fresh, clean, young.

Very friendly restaurant-with-rooms, close to the centre of town. Parking is limited, but there is an NCP car park across the road in case of need, and the station is probably 15 mins walk away .Be aware that the majority of the those rooms seem to face on to quite a busy road(that really being relative you probably won’t notice it if you live in a city but might otherwise). Food is good, and reasonably priced two-and-a-half courses(one shared dessert), plus a decent bottle of wine from the middle point of the price list came to around £70. The menu itself is best described as a having a modern British slant, with the odd hint of 80s provincial(I did spot tornedos Rossini), but highpoints included a very pleasant rabbit main roast saddle and confit leg and a cracking goosberry charlotte to finish. Breakfast was offered the traditional selection of choices(full English, Continental, eggs benedict, etc.). Staff, all round, could not have been more helpful. One, pretty minor, point for improvement I think they could do with better bread, both at breakfast and Were I to find myself needing to stay in Shrewsbury again, this might well be my place of choice.
