Can be a bit hard to find but its worth it beczuse there is a fine selection of real ale at decent quality. Beware though of visiting at wrong time as its avpopular eating venue.

Lovely traditional pub serving half a dozen real ales and a couple of ciders too. I had never heard of the Six Bells Brewery before coming here, but enjoyed a couple of their beers(Supper and Brew 101). As the previous reviewer put it this is a proper pub.

Terrific old pub. Great range of beers and ciders. Nice courtyard. A rare find thesedays. The only slight downside are the opening times which seem to limited to evenings only in the week. A must visit for anyone who enjoys proper pubs

It has to be said this pub has many positive reviews. However! The publican is an arrogant individual and the beer of average to poor in quality. The only thing worth drinking is cider as you expect that to be acidic. The bottled beers are excellent though the staff lack knowledge

One of the few pubs in shrewsbury where you can get a decent beer in a relaxed atmosphere. Great selection of german and Belgian beers as well as local offerings.

For anyone who wants the warmest welcome, the best pint of ale in the friendliest environment I would make a beeline for the Benbow. Ok, I’m a regular, but bias aside it must be the best overall in town for those who fancy a pint and a chat in a place where uncivilised behaviour of any sort is not tolerated.

absolutely brilliant pub, excellent landlord and landlady. Friday evenings the only place to be in Shrewsbury. no music, no louts, just loads of locals talking b****s

very nice pub just up behind the music hall. got a very cosey feel to it. sign on the door say no one under the age of 30 is allowed in but this is not true, it’s just to stop big groups of young people in. very nice ales behind the bar and a decent sized beer garden
