Looks great but the food and service let’s it down. I’ll not be going back

Who thought you can order the wrong sandwich! First and last time i went ordered a sarnie and when paying aaked to sit in. Where i was told that i couldn’t due to not ordering off the sit down menu! The place looks great and has so much potential but untill they relax their rules and move away from the service with a frown i won’t be going back.

Well in contrast to previous reviewers I arrived at a quiet time in no hurry, so the service seemed fine. I had a sandwich — the Moroccan Lamb — which was delicious, and the coffee was fine. Very tempted by some of the other foods on display, but afternoon meeting came around too quickly!
Perhaps a little too expensive to make a whole-​hearted recommendation.

I came today to have lunch with family for Christmas and I was very dissapointed with Urban Deli. The service was poor and very slow. I tried to catch the attention of the staff a number of times on our arrival and the restaurant wasnt very full. The portion sizes are very small for the cost. I got 4 potato wedges for £2.00. I asked them to replace the wedges as was not prepared to pay £2.00 for that portion but I was told there was no more. As they are a side dish on your menu I do not believe there was no more available. I had the lamb burger and had to send it back as it was not cooked. It came back very quickly and it was a totally new burger as I had cut mine original one in half. The burger was now cremated! The other members of the party had the roast pork sandwiches and the pork was very tough! The atmosphere of the Deli was very smokey and damp. The tables were dirty and sticky I would not recommend it to anyone.
