How do I rate this place? It’s a tough one. It was an unique experience in terms of seating and feel. It’s in an old hotel ballroom converted into a restaurant. You sit closely with other patrons. Very European. The wait wasn’t too bad… mostly because they were understaffed by my estimations. Very good ramen. Very good beer. Pricier than listed.

As a rule of thumb, I’m normally against going to chain restaurants unless they are exceptional. I’ve made an exception with Wagamama, as I’ve gone to this restaurant a handful of times at a variety of locations across the UK: Cardiff, Leamington, Birmingham, London. Their food, while predictable, is always tasty and healthy. So, why the poor review? Well, wagamama, you’ve gotten lazy. Extremely lazy. I was excited to venture into your doors(at the fabulous location in Leamington — which is just stunning inside btw) to have a wonderful meal with my boyfriend and visiting friend. The one thing on my mind: SUSHI. YOUNOLONGERSERVESUSHIATANYOFYOURLOCATIONS. What the flying phuck, Wagamama. Seriously? I don’t care if you call yourself an asian bistro cuisine whatever, you mean to tell me you decided to FORGO carrying the one dish everyone seems to enjoy because, and I quote from the server, «there was too much competition in the sushi field.» Sushi competition? Really? REALLY? There are ZERO sushi places in Leamington Spa now. I call bullshit. You’re starting to cut corners now to turn profits and you know it. I was furious. You know who I will start going to now? Another local ramen place in town. The only thing that made you UNIQUE was serving sushi. Everything else can be replicated a) at another location or b) at home. But preparing and serving prime cuts of salmon and tuna is an art. An art you destroyed. It’s cool though. I’m taking my business to your competitors now. And I’ll be sure to inform everyone else why you guys absolutely suck.
