Tootsies Restaurants

Walked in and was very warmly welcomed. An Italian gent guided us to our seat and was very attentive to our 2 kids (Italians love kids I seem to remember). I was very pleasantly surprised by this.
The positive experience did not stop.
Getting a special seat for the 1yr old was not a chore for the staff in any way, with them constantly making a fuss of her and the 3yr old.
Menus were presented both adult and childrens. The kids menu was a dream, incredible. Why? Well it seems that Tootsies have employed the help of Annabel Karmel who I understand has written some popular books on cooking fresh food for kids, to help with the menu. The selection was great, not a turkey twizzler in sight. The 3yr old had a burger (proper freshly made and cooked with lovely lettice and tomato) the 1yr old had a pasta bake dish (the cheesy one with the tubes which the name escapes me). I did my burger test, the wife had a steak.
It all came as we specified (kids came out with starters etc). My burger a delight, big, cooked medium rare as requested, with Monterey cheese and bacon.
Staff still being attentive, polite and greatly interested in the kids, even though food was flying from the 1yr old.
A refreshing experience, it exceeded expectations.

A great restaurant in Gunwharf, one of the best. The menu is extensive, as well as a good choice of burgers there is plenty of other dishes to choose from. It is a great place to take friends, the atmosphere is nice and although it can get busy the service is always good.
The only to watch out for is that they add 12.5% service charge to your bill, so if you dont want to tip that much take it off the bill and add your own tip.

I love the burgers here! This is american style dining which caters fro children and adults. It’s locatiion is lovely out on the water front and in summer you can sit outside which is delightful. The menu has a variety of american style food, burger, salads and some great breakfasts including pancakes! yum! It is reasonable value but gets crowded and noisy as you wuld expect from a family restaurant. Don;t expect it to be romantic! Service is good — friendly and you can turn around your meal quite quickly if you want to.

This has always been one of our favourite restaurants at Gunwharf Quays. If we are visiting with friends and don’t know what type of food they like it is always a safe bet. Recently we took our friends who were visiting from Australia, and we all really enjoyed our meals. I love their salads as they are so fresh. my partner loves their huge choice of burgers, and we always used to love dining outside, and miss the lamb and duck dishes that used to be on their menu as hey were so tasty. Prices are very reasonable, and service is always good.
