Booking was simple online although does not include parking, which i always think is a total scam, i cannot teleport to a hotel can I. £5 a night, cheaper than some but i still disagree with this Mis leading charge(anywhere, not just here). Check in was great, staff very friendly and helpful. Not a great deal of parking out front plenty out back and a place to stop near the door and unload if needed, otherwise a trek with cases. Lift was practically pointless it was so slow, i think we used it once and didn’t bother after, always way ahead of those waiting for it. We discovered they do food in the evening so decided that would be easiest dinner. After waiting about 10 mins for service, They did not have my first choice of meal so i went for pizza, my partner had a pasta bake. I am sad to say the pizza was probably the worst i ever had, or that i can remember. A 10″ pizza Hard as rock over cooked one side, soft and barely cooked the other, i ate it and the pepperoni was nice. The pasta bake was from a packet by the looks of it and was so small we almost had to magnify it to see it. Considering these meals are just under £10 i would advise not to bother, half way thru i remembered KFC down the road and wish we had gone there instead, not a healthy choice but would have been better. The restaurant area was cold as a fire exit was open but they did put the heat up for us when asked. The room was very nice and well equipped and very nice happy to stay here again for the rooms thats for sure, all clean too. The shower was a drizzle but i have had worse. Wifi is included — well 512kps is included after waiting 10 mins for a photo to load on Facebook i gave up, again i am not prepared to pay their extra £3 charge for standard 2GB internet, higher charges for better, another hidden Con sadly and again common these days. Breakfast was actually pretty good, scrambled eggs, sausage beans and toast as well as cereals. Coffee was from a machine and pretty damn awful but as expected from these places these days. Was able to fill up for the day and not feel sick, better than some places if you travel a lot. Summary — Very handy to town, would stay in the decent rooms, would not eat dinner, good breakfast, might have tea instead of coffee next time. Don’t wait for the lift unless you want to see a photo on the internet in which case you have the time.

This is a budget hotel and don’t expect any bells and whisltes. I booked a family room for myself, husband and two children. The room was very small, the sofa bed was broken, but as the male member of staff said, thats okay as they are being replaced next year. The double bed was a double, which sagged in the middle. the room however was clean. Breakfast although self service was really nice, lots of choice, from cereal, toast, breads, pastries, yoghurts, fruit juices and selection of hot drinks. I paid a very small amount so it was fantastic value and we were only passing through it was ideal for a stop over. If holiday Inn did sort the beds it would be a fab place to stay.

I only use this for work, but a very useful place. Two conference rooms, one small. Pleasant drinking/eating area with muffins served at coffeee time. Very clean. Staff are great one of my service users collapsed and almost died. After he’d gone to hospital, the staff helped me support his wife, gave her a frozen pizza to take home and stood me a gin and tonic.
