The food in this pub is dreadful. Chicken is dry and vegetables are so hard they are impossible to eat. Disappointing. Pub is dark and gloomy. An awful place.

It’s called The Tumble Inn and that is certainly what my friend and I did when we found it. For some reason we decided to walk from Cardiff to Pontypridd(of all the places) along the Taff Trail. By the time we finally made it to Ponty(NB: Do not trust the Taff Trail signs, we walked for about an hour, but were always three quarters of a mile away for it, like Ponty had its own peculiar set of rules in the space-time continuum) we were gagging for a pint. A quick tour of the town centre revealed little in the way of boozers apart from one terrifying bar that looked like a dole office from 1973. Resigned we headed for the train station. Lo and behold, right by our escape route back to the city was The Tumble Inn and for once I was grateful to espy a Wetherspoon’s. Like a safe, identikit harbour, we were glad to see the silent tellies, the microwaved food, the lurid interior. A couple of hard earned pints of perry later, we were on the train suitably refreshed. Thank you Mr Wetherspoon.

The Tumble Inn is a Whetherspoon’s pub located a short walk from Ponty town centre. Having lived just five minutes away from the pub, I spent a lot of time and a lot of money in there during my time in Glamorgan Uni. While that money was usually spent on the weekly Curry Club menu on a Thursday afternoon, there was one occasion in particular that made this pub a personal favourite of mine while I lived in the area. During a routine rummage through the kitchen junk drawer, my housemate stumbled across a large booklet of Whetherspoon’s coupons that expired that same day. It was then decided by the gods above that we would make the most of such a heaven-sent gift by spending the rest of our day working our way through the booklet from cover-to-cover. Two steak dinners, a curry feast, two desserts, a bottle of wine, and dozens of brands of beer later, and our work was done. We had beaten the Coupon King at his own game and stuck two imaginary, drunken fingers up to Mr Whetherspoon, as we basked in our gluttonous, money-saving glory… despite having spent a lot more money than we would have had we not found the vouchers in the first place. Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time… After hours of excessive«money-saving», we finally made our triumphant exit. Despite being named the Tumble Inn, after a day of furious discounting, the only option left was to tumble out. Good pub, good times, great memories.

Personally, I find the pub quite depressing — my main complaint is that its just too dark — which doesn’t much help the existing lack of atmosphere. The smoking area at the back was made smaller about a year ago as well — not that theres anything stopping a person from smoking in the bit thats been cut off, theres just no seats there. Standard Weatherspoons otherwise — drinks are cheap and the food is alright — would say its a decent stop-off but then theres not very much else in Ponty… Its not one of those Weatherspoons that I can enjoy being in for a prolonged period of time, but maybe thats just me.

It’s a Wetherspoons, so what do you expect? It’s not too bad so long as it’s a quiet Tuesday, or something. Kudos for selling alcoholic ginger beer, mind.

The tumble in is a weatherspoons branch. It is fairly large and offers plenty of seating areas and a seperate family area for meals. Food and drink is cheap here. The only pain is the toilets are upstairs which is abit of a drag. Often busy in here on weekends.

The tumble inn is better known as weatherspoons. Extensive food menu with special offers on curry nite etc. Can get busy on the weekends, bouncers always on the doors to take care of trouble.

This is a great wetherspoons pub in the town centrw of pontypridd. It serves good food at reasonable prices and also has a childrens menu. I have always food the food to be hot and quick. There has good nights during the week like curry and steak night when you can have a curry, rice and side order and a pint or alternative for I think it was £5.99 last time i visited. It normally has a DJ at weekends and can get quite busy early on Friday and Saturday nights. It also helps as the beer is also cheaper than some of the other bars in pontypridd.

Generally a good night out especially on the weekend as they have a DJ who is pretty decent, full of people of all ages from students from the university to OAP’s who tend to be local people. The food is good, like all of Weatherspoons pubs it serves quality food and drink at an affordable price. very lively and lots of fun at night 8pm onwards. best place to be in Pontypridd at night hands down. it however doesn’t have the quiet qualities of a fancy restaurant, and the food served isn’t gormai. However if you want good food that will fill you and a good drink this is the place. there isn’t that much trouble here either(despite what you might expect). overall then 4 stars as a pub.

Weatherspoons is located in the old post office at the top end of town. The drinks are cheap in here as is the food which has always been nice. The bar staff are very friendly but be warned it takes ages to get served as there is always a crowd in here. There is a dance floor and a DJ for the weekend. Overall its one of the better places in town.

This is a wetherspoons. They do great food and a really good childrens menu. The place is really clean and the atmospehere there is lovely. It gets quite lively on a fri and sat night where it becomes more of a club.
