This a little gem. My mom and I happened to find The Rose Cottage by accident, but were beyond pleased with the wonderful food and service we received. I had sausage and mash, fabulous Sussex sausage made locally. My mom had fish pie, equally as good. For dessert we split an amazing homemade berry crumble with fresh berries from the garden. Wonderful atmosphere, warm and friendly. There’s even a lovely house cat who will visit with you if you so choose. Great dining!

This charming looking establishment has won an AA Fresh Fish award so that’s a hint what to order in the first place! They have all the seafood options on a board and they change constantly depending what comes in on the boat but I had some fantastic haddock fillets last time I was in here. My wife had Gressingham duck breasts and they were cooked to absolute perfection.
The décor doesn’t quite fit the rest of the pub as it is a little 70s but its nice and warm and cozy as are the staff. Great place to head for a pub dinner.
