Lovely chocolate. would be very hard pushed to find better. Café staff wonderful and accommodated my dislike of seeded bread with a smile. afternoon tea a bargain at £22 for two including a selection of chocolates, cake of choice, sandwich filling of choice, and hot drink of choice. No complaints at all. chocolatier’s chocolate ganache cake at £4 pricey but incredible. don’t miss! good selection of coffees and loose-leaf teas. sandwiches, soups and other light bites available. excellent cake counter — my family highly enjoyed the lemon drizzle(best ever). I visited on a weekend so no one was working in the chocolate making part, which was the only downside for me. Would have loved to be able to see the workshop in operation. Lady serving at chocolate counter also lovely. Beautiful boxes of self-selected chocolates best part of the experience. DONOTLEAVE without visiting chocolate counter!

The café is called Legends of Grandtully. What a quirky charming gem it is. Fab coffee, cake, tea and much more. I was in heaven after the mocha shot which was an espresso of coffee and mocha Grenache delight. I had the toffee apple cake, yummy. Attached to this café is the highland chocolatier shop Iain Burnett. The café uses his chocolate to make the hot chocolate sumptuous and velvety. Lots of character with the decorations that adorne the walls. This place brings a smile to your face. On the last two Fridays of every month they transform the much loved coffee & chocolate house into a chocolate inspired evening dining. The cost is £29 for 3 courses. Menu — before the starter we have a amuse-bouche of courgette, lemon and chocolate soup. Staters — Scottish antipasti of goats cheese, smoked chicken etc with dark chocolate tangy chutney, smoked salmon very good. We then had a sorbet to cleanse the palet. Mains — pan fried fillet of pork tenderloin with mushroom and dark chocolate sauce, Beef red wine and chocolate casserole and goats cheese, chocolate and vegetable risotto, all delicious. Final act — White chocolate citrus cheesecake and chocolate berry sundae, scrummy. There was a chocolate fondue to share option but although it looked fab we could not manage this delight :( I think this place is totally worth a stop to enjoy the sheer chocolateness of it all. Xoxo

Dropped in here as a quick stop point on our wee day trip. Some nice chocolate displays inside and a lovely wee café and gift shop. The chocolate looked really lovely but was pretty expensive even for a small bar or box(like £10 for 6 chocolate) so we didn’t buy any. Some wee tasters might have prompted us to buy some but I can imagine they’d quickly find themselves providing free choccies for bus loads of tourists if they started doing this!

This was a gem that we found a wee bit off the A9 as we were driving to Inverness. Great chocolates and tea! Beautiful facility that was well worth the diversion. Even brought a few back to the states with us! Great place, friendly staff…

…to be found in the middle of nowhere. You drive up North from Edinburgh on the A9 and will notice a signpost where it says«The Highland Chocolatier». Just follow the signposts and you will end up in a very small village called Grandtully. Very remote, but beautiful area, no doubt. Chocolate was calling and we decided last Sunday to stop by this place which is linked to Iain Burnett, Scotland’s famous praline maker. The praline musters are art in themselves. There are 3 areas, which you can explore: The Tearoom, The Vintage Shop and the Chocolatier Shop. All three areas are very nicely decorated and the themes seem to follow the yearly seasons. When entering the tearoom you will notice all the ornaments and sculptures hanging from the roof or on the walls. It gives the place character. There is no shortage of Halloween witches and pumpkins either. I ordered a Hot Chocolate Mug(£3.50) and it was the best I ever had. Lots of cream on top, of course. The chocolate drink was a fair balance of milk and chocolate with a smooth, sweet taste. I also ordered a Cesaer Salad(£6.50) that came with lots of sauce, anchovies, chicken and cheese. My friend found the sauce a bit too salty, but I was fine with the amount used. Besides, i believe that the anchovies gave the salty taste, such if you do not like anchovies, you can ask to leave them out. All prices match service and sizes. And you get plenty! There is table service and the personnel is very polite and accommodating. In the front you will find all the goodies. The cheapest praline box around £5 and the most expensive box around £64. The shop also sells Iain Burnett chocolate bars with flavours like Raspberry, Toffee, Pistacchio, Apricot, Milk chocolate, dark chocolate and much more. You will also fine little bags full with chocolate beans, raisins, Nougat in chocolate… I believe it is only an hour drive from Edinburgh, such worth the visit.
