Probably the best restaurant in the South West… Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere and not too expensive. Definitively worth a visit

My only complaint could possibly be that there wasn’t a degustation option as I pretty much wanted to try everything on the menu!

Among the best meals I’ve had in the UK since I moved here a few months ago. It started with the bread, served with great local butter and a stunning smoked fish kinda taramasalata topped with crackling. Started with simple haddock fishcake over black pudding. Simple but amazingly well executed. The duo of pork(roasted loin and braised cheek) was phenomenal. The scallop that accompanied the dish was almost an afterthought. Great of course, but the green apple purée under the scallop was the perfect foil to the pork cheek. And this deserves a separate paragraph. The pork crackling that accompanied the dish was easily the best crackling I’ve ever had… and trust me, I’ve eaten a lot of cracklin’! The waitress talked me into dessert which was again, fantastic! Bread pudding with a hard caramel crust that made put this ubiquitous(though delicious) dish over the top.
