Amazing ice cream and wonderful food! The flavours are very imaginative, if a little pricey on the sundae front. I’ve visited every one of the chain for the majority of my life in Oxford and don’t regret it.

Good café with waffles& ice-cream and all sorts of sandwiches and paninis. They are open late(till midnight), which a rare find for a café in Oxford. It’s a chain in Oxford, firstly known for their icecream. Try their Oxford blue, blueberry flavoured ice-cream! Also a good spot for studying if you are that kinds of a person :)

We went last week because James(4) wanted ice-cream, and when I saw the sandwich fillings, I just had to have salad, which wasn’t on the menu, but the guacamole looked amazing and it was. I hand picked a whole bunch of the sandwich filler salad items, and had them in a bowl. It was a lovely salad, and amazing value!

Whilst admittedly a little over-rated, G and D’s is still good for a variety of reasons, including: –The opening hours(8am — 12pm) — great if you want to meet someone early or late –The price — drinks here are generally cheaper than in many other chain coffee shops –The novelty factor of having an ‘ice cream palour’ in the UK(with a fun range of ice cream flavours) –They also do bagels, cookies and other sweet things. It does get a little busy sometimes, with several students looking like they’ve set up camp there for the day. Would recommend the dime bar cookie(heated up) and also a ‘freeze’(it’s not advertised on the board here, but is on the one in St Aldates — it’s a spoonful of sorbet in lemonade — very refreshing!)

The most recent addition to the famous G&Ds ice cream café chain(well, famous in Oxford anyway!). This hasn’t quite reached the same level of popularity as the more central cafes, but this means it’s less crowded and you can get your ice cream sooner. They have all the usual benefits: amazing ice cream flavours, including some unusual combinations and the delightful Dime Bar Crunch and Oxford Blue. They also do bagels, hot drinks(usually fairtrade) and some yummy brownie-type goodies. The ice cream sauces and toppings are to die for, even if the dolly mix sweets are sometimes a bit old and chewy, and the staff are friendly. The usual cow theme is present here, and the only let-down is that it’s quite expensive, but it’s completely worth it. Yum. I think 3 cafes is sufficient to start a ‘café crawl’…
