The Cove Restaurant

This used to be a great place to go for fish and chips in Otley. But after today it’s the worst I’ve ever experienced. Asked for fish cake and chips, had no fish cakes which was surprising since it wasn’t even 1pm. Then the chips looked and tasted massively under cooked. Won’t be going here anymore for fish and chips and suggest nobody else does either. Lucky to even get 1 star.

We all know the best place for fish and chips is Yorkshire and The Cove in Otley is the reason why!
I’ve never tried any fish and chips as good as this, it’s as good as they get! Yes!
Went with my friend Kath and we plump for the special deal on offer — 2 people can eat from a choice of starter & main from a set menu. We had a minestrone soup and fish with a half portion of chips — we paid £14! What a deal.
Not only was I impressed with the food, the fish was plumb and juicy but the batter crisp and light. The waitress was lovely and very attentive too.
A lovely little restaurant and a buzzy little takeaway, a great day spent in Otley today!

Fish and chips at The Cove are excellent. I live about 3 miles away and will happily drive over when I want fish and chips.
Batter is light and crispy, service is excellent and prices are reasonable.

I’d been told this was the best place for sit-​down fish and chips in Otley, so when I went, I decided to be a fool and order from the takeaway rather than eat in the restaurant.
The shop front entices you in with its cheeky appearance and what I think is a brilliant name for a fish restaurant, and on my visit the takeaway was packed (it was around 5PM so that made sense), however service was quicker than I expected it to be.
What struck me about the cod & chips I got was the utter lack of grease, which made a refreshing change as I didn’t have to wipe my lips after every bite and I also felt slightly less guilty about eating deep-​fried goods.
They tasted splendid to be honest, and the prices were so reasonable that I’m thinking of going back and checking out the restaurant. It’s won awards, and I can see why.

The cove is a fish and chip shop which has a restaurant upstairs. The fish and chips are nice.
