I am a massive fan of cosy, traditional Northern pubs. I don’t think life gets much better than sitting with friends with a nice tipple in your local(aside from sitting on a beach somewhere nice, hot and exotic with a gin and tonic in hand and a warm breeze across my face… anyway). This place has it all: Friendly staff, snug/comfy furniture and great locals. Suppose its much cheaper than Barbados also!

Recently this pub has undergone a refurb and what a difference it has made! It looks like something completely different. Inside now it is all modern with new seating, carpets, curtains and it feels so cosy especially when you can snuggle a cushion too. :) Also the bar has been cleaned up and it just looks a whole lot brighter. They have kept some original features like the fireplaces which is good, as in winter I love it when these are on. I like to go in here and watch love bands. It creates a nice atmosphere especially if you are with a few friends. So for this place I give a massive thumbs up!
