The Clarence

We only live 300yds from this pub and it is no longer in its former glory. It no longer stocks any real ales, even from the local brewery only 50 yds away! It feels grubby and worn inside, and is more a locals drinking there out of habit pub. Try the Hare and Hounds on Luzley road for a much better option!

I don’t live in these parts, this is a local pub for local people! However, if you fancy a walk/​hike around the moors beside Dove Stone reservoir, then this is the perfect place to grab a bit of scran and a beer afterwards. The food is top notch, and reasonably priced as is the beer. The locals don’t bite, and in winter they have fires going. I have always liked it, and so have I. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.
There is currently a ‘for sale’ (business) sign outside, so if it gets leased or sold and the food and hospitality takes a nosedive, then don’t blame me and my review.

You know when you are driving around looking for somewhere cheap and good to eat? Well this is how I found the Clarence.
We were drawn originally by the story that Mick Jagger use to go in here as he lived nearby. Then we were drawn by the meal prices, so we decided to pull into their car park and give it a whirl.
First thing I noticed was how dark Wuthering Heights type building it is. I wondered if a Heathcliff was behind the bar but sadly there were only young ladies and a big tall chef who looked nothing like my hero Heathcliff.
Inside, the rooms are all opened planned and large and there is a separate dining area. Once we were settled, we decided to order and I chose something I had never really had before and that was a steak filled with feta cheese. When I say it was filled, I mean stuffed. The steak was made into a ball shaped and once you cut into it, steaming hot feta cheese came pouring out.
I would recommend this restaurant for any time of day, it is not only fantastic but cheap and cheerful.

The Clarence Hotel is situated in the beautiful countryside of Greenfield, Oldham and is a Tapas Bar and a La Carte Menu also. The food is extremly reasonable in price, you would be ecxcepted to pay £20 for a Scrummy Steak and a bottle of wine which is very reasonable for the quality. The Décor is slighty Old Fashioned but very clean and the staff are very helpful, whats more after a beautiful dinner the local area Dovestones is very nearby and ideal to burn off the calories on a very beautiful Country walk!

The Clarence Hotel is located in Greenfield, Oldham. Its is a lovely country style pub, which serves Spanish Tapas and Tradional English food. The staff are very friendly and the level of service is very high, Costs for the food are more than reasonable and while worth the price. The Clarence Hotel is somewhere i would highly rate to anyone who enjoy good hearty food.
