Asda Chadderton Superstore

Now I’ve always been fan of Tescos myself, been to Asda Chadderton this evening and I was overcome with all the deals… £1 here £1 there! :D

I am downgrading my previous review on this store because of the stock levels being significantly lower than other branches such as The Harpurhey Store.
This store still has a Gluten Free Range, a dvd section and a ASDA George Section but some products they do not have such as the Starbucks Cookies and Cream Frappucinio or other flavours than Mocha in that matter, I didn’t see the Gluten Free Cornflakes either.
I was looking for the Oasis Add to water Juice items however they have no stock of this items, I don’t know if it is all ASDA Stores or just this one as they only had Robinsons.
I tried to get a free sample as the person handing them out did have boxes left however she told me they was no samples left, which was pretty strange as they was still boxes on the table and if they was no samples left why would she be stood their on the stand without attempting to do anything what would of been more use of her time?
The store follows the traditional ASDA Layout with Milk and Cheese etc in the fridges on the back wall etc, most of the staff I spoke to did seem helpful, even in the Café they seemed to know what Gluten was and explained the only Gluten Free product they had in the Café was Macaroons after Jacket Poatatos running out of stock, I can’t understand this as they did have some in the store, if a customer did ask for some they could just go and get some from the store considering they are making more money selling them in the café.
I did not like how the café was very small as you walk in either, I normally like larger cafes with alot more seating, slightly hidden so it is quiter and away from the rush of everyone going in and out of the store.
They did have a small Gluten Free Frozen range including a few pizzas, meals, chocolate and cheesecakes which were all frozen for around 3 pounds each.
This ASDA Store is in a nice little retail park with a Boots, Local Options, Greggs and a really cheap place for frozen foods just a few meters away, so if you are shopping at ASDA, I would recommended going to Quality Foods after to finishing off your shopping.
The only really good thing about this store is the petrol price, ASDA is one of the cheapest places for petrol apart from Tesco, although Tesco charge a slightly more expensive rate it can work out so much cheaper for TESCO Clubcard holders with their Petrol Rewards Scheme to get 2p off for every £50 spent, I do feel with Sainsburys and Tesco doing a Petrol rewards scheme and I think Morrisons are as well, ASDA really need to consider it as well. I can’t rank this store down because of this though as it is the Head Office that makes that decision.
With the poor selection of stock for quite a few items considering the size of the store I have to give this store 2 stars as on the rare occurrence I visit this store they is always a few items of which I need, which they have run out of stock. I understand this can happen especially at busy stores but happening so regular on so many different items is what a big store like ASDA, needs to avoid.

There are several things to love about ASDA in Chadderton. Their bakery section is fantastic, along with delicatessen. The superstore is located at the end of a neat shopping centre planted with charity shops, and the transport links are superb.
The only thing they could seriously improve, though, is the café. «Ground coffee» is the worst I’ve ever had. The café itself is tucked in the corner, but, as one should imagine, people like having their tea and scones RIGHT AFTER they paid for their goods. So, not only do they go to the table, they also take their trolleys with them. Add to that disabled visitors who have every right to use their wheelchairs, and here is an overcrowded café with pretty bad coffee.
