The York Tavern situated is situated in the Heart of the Golden Triangle. It has a good mixture of students and local regulars. A friendly atmosphere, with a large beer garden, and huge umbrellas and heaters for the smokers in winter. There is also music nights upstairs open to anyone so bring your guitar and have a strum! Upstairs can also be hired as a function room and is large enough for about 100 guests. Sunday Roast is especially recommend but get there early so you get a seat. Good selection of beer and ales Recommended A++

The York Tavern is a perennial student favourite haunt in the heart of the Golden Triangle. It serves good food and plenty of beer. It’s also surprisingly roomy, with a large section out the back and a beer garden for summertime drinking. They also, at weekends at least, don’t close the bar down until 1am. Which is just great. Because 11pm is far too early to be going back home. Be careful on leaving the premises at 1a. m though. Because all the streets around there look very much alike, and on a dark night, with a few beers under the belt and a slight squint, you might get lost.
