Pretty good pub for deals. Don’t order the Rump Steak, unless you like eating rubber. It’s quite chewy I just kept chewing it and the meat would not come apart. However the BBQ ribs and the sirloin steak were great. Also the jacket potato(Aka baked potatoe) also delicious. Amazing value overall

A very cosy pub on the quay side of Newcastle Upon Tyne offering a wide variety of drinks and cask ales. The food and drinks are priced cheaply however the food isn’t of great quality(you get what you pay for). The quality of the service can also vary depending on the time of day and the staff do appear to be overworked.

Run of the mill Weatherstones, chain pub, what makes it that bit special is it’s right beside the river so you can sit and watch the Tyne slip past, like a dark levitation. Along has a nice courtyard out back by the road, serves food and does pitchers of cocktails for a fiver, though the barman may look at you a little strange if you tell them you want straws not glasses for them! *HIC*

Newcastle’s most iconic landmark and tourist attraction — beautiful views day and night! This area really epitomises what Newcastle has to offer… beautiful architecture, culture and a thriving nightlife. An ideal destination for walkers, runners and cyclists alike and personally my number one route when training for the Great North Run. Each Sunday you also have the option to peruse the Quayside Market whilst taking in the views. If you’re visiting the city and looking for that one perfect tourist snap then this is it! On a nighttime, it can be so tranquil and is a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. That said… further along the river you can easily access a whole host of different bars and restaurants on the side streets set back from the river! There really is something for everyone!

This Wetherspoons is in a very old building, so old that tall people have to duck through the door. Big patio in the back and the front(on the river), so fantastic to sit in summer and people-watch. Lots of seating, much of it sunny. Drinks are very cheap compared to the rest of town — food is too, though I haven’t tried it! I find it more appealing than most Wetherspoons given the prime location. Always busy on nice days, sometimes you’ll be queuing for drinks which is a bit of a hassle, but worth it once you get a seat!

I go here often, mainly on a morning when I am out cycling I stop and have coffee and a fabulous breakfast. As has been noted by others, the views of the River Tyne are great from here.

Cheap and testy food that you can expect from English pub. Great coffee refill until 2pm everyday. Incredible view on river Tyne.

Only had beer. Can’t comment on food. Nice ambience on the river, with a large selection of draft beer, including local proper(real) ale. Well preserved old building with a lot of seating areas, very comfy and cozy pub feel. Highly recommend!

Great wetherspoons pub right next to the river very spacious and usual selection of wetherspoons meals with a good selection of ales. Had two meals in there with my girlfriend and enjoyed it both times.

A great(if fairly expensive) place for residents and visitors alike. Come rain, hail or shine the place will be packed on a friday night. You can’t ask for much more of an endorsement.

Lovely pretty walk, with children, or dogs, or bike. Best on a sunday to see the quayside markets or on an evening to see the millennium bridge :)

The quayside is located down from the city centre, with memorable places including the Baltic and the Sage, amongst the bars, restaurants and hotels it provides to the citizens of Newcastle as well as tourists. It is beautiful, which many transport links and everything for the family. You would be foolish not to visit this part of the city.

The Quayside is a beautiful part of Newcastle to visit, home to the Baltic Art Gallery and the Sage Music centre, and various bars and restaurants to suit all tastes, it is the perfect place to spend a weekend. Just up the road from the Quayside is the city centre, giving easy access to all of Newcastle’s other attractions, and to various transport links.

Whether it be for a quick walk, a spot of photography, or to watch the fireworks for new years, the quayside is always an awesome place to be in my opinion. There are some good bars about too, and some very pricey restaurants, so if you’ve got cash to burn, you know where to go. The view of the bridges at night is definitely something to be seen!

Walking back to the town centre from the quayside used to be a nightmare but then a saviour came in the form of the Yellow Q1 and Q2 bus, you can catch the buses every ten mins the Q1 from Central Station to quayside then baltic and gateshead or the Q2 from Haymarket to quayside, ousburn then St peters Basin, If you find it difficult to walk far then these buses are a godsend to get you around the Newcastle and Gateshead Quay.

The Quayside is my favourite area in Newcastle and definitely a must for any tourist’s itinerary. The Quayside is perfect for a daytime stroll but really comes in to its own at night when the bridges twinkle against the dark sky. The choice of restaurants, bars and clubs along the Quayside is staggering and there is certainly something to suit everyone’s taste. Another great time to visit the Quayside is on a Sunday morning when it is home to a small but vibrant market.

And then all of a sudden you roll down a large cobbled bank or stumble down a steep, slimey staircase and you’re hit by a wet fish. The smell used to be worse but the river has cleaned up a lot. A wide variety of bars, clubs, restaurants and cafes outline the Tyne. The latest bridge to be built on the Tyne is shaped like an eye and looks like it’s blinking when it opens. Stunning! The Quayside has to be one of the greater city sight seeing points. The ice cream shop is always worth a visit too and you’ll need it if you’re gonna climb to the top of that old flour mill. The Baltic and the Sage overlook the river on the Gateshead side and both places are free to get into. On a nice hot summers day, it’s great to catch the salty breeze and have a refreshing pint. You may get a slight feeling of being in a foreign countrywell if you think like me.

The Quayside is a lovely place to walk along if you want just a peaceful view of Newcastle Culture or really just want to walk off lunch at one of the many restaurants. There are some beutiful spots along the Quayside where you can admire the new Bridge or simply just to enjoy watching the world go by. If you fancy taking a walk over the Mellennium Bridge I would suggest you have a sit down half way over just to feel it moving — bizarre feeling. I like the Quayside as it feels like a life away from the hustle and bustle of the City Centre and if you want to really experience some culture there is always the Baltic or The Sage music Theatre to appreciate.

The Quayside in Newcastle is a great place to visit for a bite to eat, something to drink or to soak up the culture of Newcastle. Along the quayside you will find 7 bridges including the Tyne, the Baltic– an old grain warehouse now converted to a visual art space with art exhibitions, a library, restaurants, a cinema and a contemporary art archive. Many bars including Pitcher and Piano and the renowned Stereo make this a great place to go drinking along with several nice restaurants open day and night. There is something for everyone!
