I called at The Spud Van today to get a jacket potato, the woman who served me and I guess was the owner was very nice and had a knowledge of gluten free, and could tell me that her jackets potatos are fine hence I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and tuna mayo. She continued to ask me if such a such a thing is fine, which was nice to see as she didn’t just get on with it. Normally for a jacket potato it is £2 but it cost me £2.50 as I ordered an extra topping. While campaigning in Middleton, Nigel Farage had a bacon butty from this van, if it is good enough for him, it is good enough for me and I found my food to be okay however it was nothing special. My Potato was mainly okay, it was quite soft and the toppings were okay. I found the skin however to be quite chewy and some parts of the potato to taste slightly bland and hard, some of the tuna tasted like it had no mayo, this could tell me that the mayo has not been stirred properly into the tuna but it was mostly okay, I found the cheese to taste quite nice as well and I am very particular with the cheese I eat. For a food truck, this is quite nice, they have quite a big menu and the food is okay for great prices, the staff are nice. I can’t mark them down for having just outside seating, infact I should mark them up because of this as not many food trucks have seating. I feel 3 stars is fair as my food wasn’t amazing but it was still not bad, especially for the value and I would visit again.
