Wing’s is a Chinese take out within the Arndale Food Market. They have an excellent variation of Chinese meals on offer and they’re perfect for lunch times, especially if you’re in a rush. You can order from any of the set menu meals on the large board at the back or essentially mix and match anything you want — they even cook some meals to order rather than serving it from the counter. The staff are friendly and I was served and got my food in just a matter of minutes! They do get busy, which is a good sign! My noodles were fresh and had only just bee put out. I took it back to my office to eat and it was well packaged and still piping hot. I’ll go here a lot whilst working in the city!

Its ok(and I know my dai pai dong from my elbow) I had the three roast on rice and it was ok definitely not the best. The meats looked and tasted a little dehydrated and seemedto have been left out in the open a little too long. But flavours were good. I noticed the queue to wings in the food court was longer than the macdonalds queue. Is the nation going crazy for Chinese food… conclusion– Confucius says«Above average food that fills the void but does it warrant a glass of champagne– no chance».

I tend to avoid the Arndale food court, just to avoid the mass amounts of people who flock there over the weekend.(I presume people aren’t aware of other places to eat) However, when the odds are against you. Or, if you’re just too lazy to search for anywhere else. Then go to Wings! It’s situated between McDonald’s and«SpudUlike» and visible by the massive«Wings» logo above the counter. they offer a wide arrange of various Chinese dishes(With an English influence) However, I only ever buy the Roast Duck and noddles(only £4.50 without the drink. BARGIN!!) I can safely say you get what you pay for. Might not be the cheapest meal, but god it’s the most for filling. Huge portions, with a great taste. I also on rare occasions purchase the Seafood Nigiri(Sushi) for a fiver(Includes various sushi pieces, Pot of Wasabi, and a bag of crushed onions. Everything I’ve purchased from here tastes great, even the sushi(If you aren’t a big fan). The staff are surprisingly friendly and talkative at the counter, which is unusual for fast food. The place seems incredibly overstaffed. But I can’t complain about that, as long as the food is reasonably fast, and of a good quality. Sadly, when you do buy a meal make sure you scout out for a seat first. If you aren’t aware of the food court seating, then don’t get your hopes up on having a nice sit down without a little competition. All in all, a great place to get some food from. Just make sure you are close to a bin. I’m still yet to finish a full meal… There’s sooo much!!! Final comments: Yes, there are chopsticks and forks. Yes, some of the meals come in those little Chinese take away boxes you see in American films.

i want to get something clear– the name of this place is Wing’s Dai Pai Dong. i’m somewhat puzzled at my experience here. this restaurant is in a food court. in the states it’d be sandwiched between a sbarro pizza and church’s chicken. one doesn’t expect to see roast duck, pork, and chicken hanging dai pai dong(hk street market) style 20 feet away from a forever 21. ya’ll i had the best roast duck wonton noodles i’ve ever had in my life at this place. and i’ve had a lot of roast duck wonton noodle. it was THAT good. in the middle of the arndale mall food court. what the what?

It exists! There’s a takeout station actually nestled amongst the Food Court horror but this is a cute little canteen just at the Food Market entrance, where you can grab sushi off the conveyor belt, order noodles and sit gabbing with a companion. Okay, it may be a great opportunity for everyone to epically FAIL at saying the name, but let’s just put together a checklist. Friendly service? Tick. Quick results? Tick. Delicious Oriental food? Tick. Surprising portion sizes?(A good surprise — tick.) Name amusing to Westerners? Tick. This Wing’s is one of the little siblings of the restaurant in Lincoln Square, an incredibly popular Manchester eatery that consistently gets great reviews. However if you’re up for something quicker and cheaper, these little Dai Pai Dongs are the perfect option. You can help yourself to some tasty sushi off the belt and order from the vast and varied menu when you want something hot. The focus here as the website proclaims involves Thai specialities, siu mei, Cantonese dim sum and Chinese noodles. Asian fusion is thus the order of the say and always sits very well with me. Do what I did and stop off to up your energy levels before trawling the market. I can confirm that everything I tried was 100 delicious, from the vermicelli soup to the cuttle fish nigiri. Just make sure you don’t fill up too much on sushi before the mains arrive because they’re a lot larger than you’d expect. I know, for those prices? Don’t get me started. Wing’s is great. Next stop, a sit-down meal in the flagship restaurant. It’s difficult to muster the motivation though when this is such a quick and convenient alternative.

Wings is a fantastic addition to the Arndale food market and actually one of my favourite Chinese takeaways. Service is so quick and friendly, no messing about, straight in, order, watch your food being cooked and then done. And it’s sooooo cheap! Huge range too including sushi and hot meals too. I am a huge fan of the chicken and sweetcorn soup, prawn crackers come free with it which is always a bonus. I tend to pick my main course depending on the special offers, there are so many and it’s such good value.

Wing’s Dai Pai Dong(meaning ‘street food stall’) is a handy Asian-Fusion food bar in the Arndale. Another offering from Wing Shing Chu of the highly regarded Wing’s restaurant on Lincoln square, its tasty, fast nosh at very reasonable prices. There’s Japanese, Chinese, Cantonese Dim Sum and even Thai dishes on offer here. There’s a great choice of Sushi, with classics like Uramaki starting at £3 for 3 pieces. There’s Japanese Udon noodles, Thai dishes including Satay skewers at just £1.50, Dim Sum at 60p each and a great selection of juices and coffee. The staff are pretty accommodating too, and whilst this isn’t and can’t be of the same quality as it’s more upmarket counterpart, it is a great ‘street food’ stop off.

I do really like this place because it is located in a great spot! In the Manchester Arndale, by the markets. There isn’t anywhere else that is in the Centre that serves good Chinese food for a reasonable price. Dai Pai Dong is Chinese for a food stall, very popular in Hong Kong for quick, cheap, tasty food. So as well as the Sushi wheel which you can pick from, you can also order from the menu which has rice and noodle dishes. Food portions are not massive but are filling enough for lunch(too much will make you fall asleep when you get back to work!). You can get a good meal with drink for £6 which is not much more than a Starbucks coffee and sandwich. Recommended!
