Location of this bar is out site city centre but in walking distance or you can take cab and that will cost you couple of pounds. Place is nice and warm with big wall windows you can see everything what is going on out site. Menu is big mix of international cousins. Food presentation is on very high level and you can feel that your food was cooked wit passion, full of flavor. You need trie bloody Mary tomato dip it is very yummy Staff is nice and friendly.

The Banyan Tree is located a bit out of town on Chester Road on the outskirts of Hulme but is definitely worth the journey out if you’re looking for interesting food in nice surroundings. The Banyan Tree has a Northern Quarter feel with missed matched furniture and unusual artwork. The menu is fusion in style. The main reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is because the seating was rather cramped and they had run out of a lot of the menu by the time we arrived at 8pm. We both ordered the sweet potato spring rolls to start which tasted very fresh and we’re crammed with filling. For main I had the halloumi fritter pad thai. A rather unusual dish and not strictly a pad thai but still very tasty. My husband’s chicken burger was massive and went down a treat. The service was laid back and friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. A good place for a visit.

I have such a soft spot for the delightful Banyan Tree. Not only is it our local and offers a wonderful selection of quality food and drink but it also featured in my(now fiancé’s) wedding proposal! I was sent on a mini bar crawl that ended in banyan! Banyan is one of those«old reliable» places you know will always offer quality food, a laid back atmosphere and good service all for a reasonable price. Pretty much every friend that’s ever come to visit me has experienced banyan whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner which I think is a real testament to their consistent menu! When the day comes that I move from Castlefield I’m going to really miss having this place as my local!

The Banyan Tree is my local and I am so glad! I go over there quite a lot and always get great service. They are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun. The drinks are a good price and they have some yummy alternative drinks. The food is good and the curries are lovely jubbly. I always get the lamb burger with the seasoned fries… i’d say it’s the best thing on the menu… well…that and the chicken strips with dip… or the curry and dips… or the chorizo sizzler… hmm…give anything a go, it’s all good. Even if you’re a bit of a gym freak they have meal put together by Train gym across the road that’s healthy and helps on the quest for the perfect body… i’ve never eaten that one but it looks nice! Lol! They have quiz nights(where everyone cheats. not just us!), cocktail nights(cocktails are lovely and not too pricey) sometimes wine tasting, curry nights and the list goes on. Of the two years I have been in Manchester and the maaaany, many times I have eaten over there, I’ve only had two slightly not so good experiences. Nothing major. One was taking smoked salmon off the menu, and the other was my lamb burger was a bit too pink once. That’s it. Get over there for dinner today!

What a great place this is! The Lamb Burger and Bloody Mary ketchup are legendary but the roasts are fantastic. They have happy hour cocktails on a Thursday and have guest beers! The service is great and they even helped me propose to my fiancé! They agreed to be part of a treasure hunt game I designed. Ace. Can get busy so do book ahead. I also recently had a beer sat next to Bez!

I don’t even know how to describe the food here, it’s a fusion of several things… and it does it jolly well. Came here for a catch up of family types, Wednesday night 7.00 easily had a table for our fooding needs. The Starting platter just made sense, and not just because platters make sense in virtually all situations(even zombie apocalypses as handy weapon or shield) because firstly there were four of us so would have had four starters anyway so got one for free, and also because we couldn’t decide what to have off the starters so ‘HAD’ to have 5 as that’s as much as we could narrow down by. Starters — Calamari with Chilli, Lamb Balti Balls, Chorizo in a Tomatoey sauce, Japanese Mushroom tings, and BBQ ribs. The starters should give you an indication of what I was saying at the beginning they come from all over the place! nice :) Main the Lamb burger(meat was spiced) topped with an Onion Bhaji with chips on the side. TASTY burgerness going on, the Fries were seasoned alot, maybe a little too much but I finished them… Everyone liked their food, all found it filling in that some had to leave some of their’s but certainly not because they didn’t want more. Staff were polite and friendly though they did take quite a while initially to come to our table, not disastorous we weren’t in a rush. Prices, same as what you’d be paying in the city centre, so not somewhere I’d be going out of my way to visit, but being next to my sisters apartment I’m sure I’ll find myself here again

Nestled in the recently(well last five years) developed Urban Splash ‘Castlefield Basin’(that’s really just the top of Hulme, but shhhh, don’t tell the young professionals that!), is the buzzing little bar/restaurant that is The Banyan Tree. Good looking with a laid back and filling menu, there’s always an exciting specials board using the best of what’s fresh. They’re also open for lunch and have a sunday lunch option, which attracts ALL the hungover residents like flies each sunday. All the dishes are a good sized portion, esp the lunch time barms — try the ultra crispy panko covered fish finder butty — DELISH and what I usually pop in for. I’ve been coming here for years and will continue to do so — staff are amazing, food is good, it’s always got a good atmosphere and if you sit in the window on a sunny day then you can get a proper delicious little cat nap in. Only downer is it’s slightly pricy for me to eat my lunch there everyday! Ps Try their bloody mary ketchup — DIVINE!

A small little gem of a place hidden in castlefield. We went on a voucher from groupon and I was taken back at how good the food was. We had starters and mains and portions were huge and delicious. There is a good selection of drinks and there us a nice ambiance in the place even though it’s fairly small. The food was a little pricey as were drinks if you were paying full price but arguably worth it. I would definitely recommend it. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because of the service it was shockingly bad and slightly spoilt our night however don’t let that put you off as the food by far makes up for it!

When Urban Splash and other property developers began to dig up the Quays and Castlefield areas of Manchester, it was a natural that funky little bars and coffee shops would spring up to cater for the thirsty urbanites after a hard days’ work. Quite rapidly, they extended their fanbase beyond their neighbours who reside in the minute and hyper expensive apartments and news hit the suburbs that the city centre is not the only place to go to for a nice drink and a giggle. The Banyan Tree is such a place and is nestled between the converted Church and apartments in the Castlegate area. It has soft brown leather comfy sofas to relax on and a large, varied menu and is open from 10am to 11pm on weekdays and until 1am on Friday and Saturday. There is a lovely Irish girl behind the bar with spiky blond hair who is really helpful and talks you through the meals of the day on the blackboard. The Banyan Tree is perfect for a soup and a sandwich or one of their exotic salads at lunch time and the evening menu is a refreshing departure from pretentious complex cuisine and they do a mean lamb burger and fries. This is a nice place to meet up with your friends and for just £10 you will be fed and watered. Okay, the view when you sit outdoors is not stunning but the concrete jungle ceases to offend when you taste the food.

The Banyan Tree is lovely; everything about it is lovely. The décor is quite kitsch and mismatched in a way that looks classy rather than cool; by this I mean it works. There is a range of seating from soft squidy sofas to elaborate wooden carved seats. The whole place feel sophisticated and classy. The drinks range is vast, they have that lovely Modelo beer which is a posher version of Corona and i love it! They also do a cracking Gin & Tonic and use Bombay Saffire which gives them a lot of favor in my books! The G&T’s I have had here have always perfect and are one of the rare few places that I feel like I couldn’t have done it better myself. The food here probably best described as delicate, it has a fairly short but complketely comprehensive Menu; there isn’t anything that you really feel ought to be there. I have only had breakfast there and my eggs were cooked perfectly! It isn’t cheap here but is worth going every now and again for a bit of a treat. Manchester is calling out for more bars like this!

One of my three local alcohol vending establishments, The Banyan Tree is one of my most frequented bars. Its got its definite advantages over the other bars in the area, but unfortunately its also got some disadvantages. For many things The Banyan Tree is categorically the best option in the area. It’s a classy suburban bar, the like of which will be very familiar, particularly to Londoners, as Manchester seems to somewhat avoid an extreme production of places of this nature. The setting is lovely, and the mismatched furniture and décor lends the place a quaint yet classy feel. The drinks range is extensive. They have a good wine list and even the cheapest are tasty. They have a great beer range as well, though only a couple are available on draught. The bottle selection is great, with beers from across Europe and beyond. Personally I recommend a nice big bottle of Lindenboom. Unfortunately these wont come cheap; at over £3 these bottles of beer are twice as expensive as those next door at Binary Bar. Food wise, I’ve only had a breakfast, and my comments would mirror those I have made about the beer. Its gorgeous, with all the components cooked to perfection. The beans even come in a little pot so they don’t go all over the items on your plate. You know as well as I know that this kind of component arrangement can make or break a breakfast. Coffee was not bad either. My criticism would be that it’s a little expensive, at over £7. Also, I was still hungry, but I am quite a big lad(not fat, for the record). They’ve a quiz and curry night on Monday nights which always looks busy and cool. It’s the prefect place for a quiet one or two, or maybe a date, but its not the place to get smashed or watch the wallet.

It may be a long walk from Manchester city centre, but if you are up to a stroll along the Bridgewater Canal, then Banyan Tree is for you. Called so after the banyan trees under which the Indian traders used to sit to talk business, the bar has started in the summer of 2008 and quickly proved itself. The view from huge floor-to-ceiling windows may not be the best ever, unless you can look past and above the cars and over at St George’s Church that was converted into apartments. But it is well compensated for by the heaps of light that penetrate and warm the Banyan Tree. This is something that the neighbouring Binary lacks, although, let’s face, Binary could be located where is now Banyan Tree, or vice versa. Perhaps, the only drawback of Banyan Tree is the space; or better put, the fact that sometimes you have to sit near the toilet, for the lack of free seats elsewhere. If you can be above this little hurdle, then you’re in for a lovely experience. Banyan Tree clearly takes pride in its beverages and cakes, and for a good reason. In 2008 they took off with serving exclusive Illy Caffe, delicious pastries, and yummy cakes. In the same year their resident bartender who previously worked for Revolution bar organised a vodka and gin tasting. The good news is that, bartender now travelling worldwide, Banyan Tree is still striving to provide the best bar experience to its visitors. Whether you’re after a venue for business meeting, or chilling out with friends, or cuddling with your date or loved one, Banyan Tree has everything you need. It’s friendly, relaxed, cosy, and inviting.

The Banyan Tree is a great place to meet friends and foe alike. The staff are quite honestly the friendliest you will come across and the grub here is not bad either. I regularly waste away hours which I could be spending far more productively elsewhere reading the papers and reading up on useless info/articles on the net here. If you the chance to come here and waste some of your very own hours try one of the filled pittas and the peppered shoestring fries(yum) . The Banyan Tree packs out on a Friday and Saturday so make sure you get in fairly early if your going for a few drinks. Otherwise midweek the place is really relaxed from morning right through to late evening. As you can see I am quite a fan of the place and no doubt you will be too! :)

«In most traditional villages of South Asia, a huge Banyan Tree provides a meeting place for the community. They gather in its shade to chat, relax or discuss important issues and make decisions.» Got this from the website. Ok it’s a little bit poncy for a café but the Banyan is my little home from home so I’ll forgive it anything. The fact that it has cheap coffee, guest beers from places I’ve nver heard of, free WiFi and staff who are prepared to overlook the fact that I sit there till tea time cadging their net on the strength of the fact that I purchased a small mocha that morning makes this little bar one of my favourites in a city full of caffeine shacks– nice bar, nicer people and the cooked breakfast is a revelation!

Banyan Tree is a cosy little bar located beneath the Moho apartments. It’s pretty relaxed and quiet, and it is a good place to go for a coffee during the day. It’s also the only place I’ve ever seen doing ‘Byron Bay Cookies’ which are delicious(although freshly baked british ones would do be even better). I have never eaten a meal here but I would definitely try the food as it smells yummy and they seem to do everything else so well.

I think Weaver must have these 2 bars mixed up. Banyan is one of the most appealing bars in Manchester. The slection of beer, the choice and quality of food and the atmosphere are all balanced perfectly. The staff are keen to ensure your time in Banyan is as pleasurable and comfortable as possible. Many friends have ALL said that Banyan is the coolest local. I recommend you try the place and in-particular the Lamd Burger! Fantastic.

As a bar, it would be fair to say this is a place where you would start off your night or go for a quiet one. It’s around the corner from a similar bar called Binary, and it may find itself coming up short against its competitor which offers a neat little menu, plenty of offers on drinks and most notably — a big screen TV for the footy. The Banyan Tree has squat. But if the reason you go to a bar is because it has nice owners then Banyan has it all! But nothing else. If you’re lucky you may catch the owner sneaking around the corner to examine a pretty unmagnificent lamppost situated, coincidentally, directly opposite from the Binary. You may notice his eyes occasionally flitting inside his arch nemesis bar. You may then notice him biting his fist. Disclaimer: I do not work for Binary.
