stopped of here for a hot drink, nice seating area staff are very friendly, cleaning and rearranging when their not serving ordered my usual latte, tasted a bit bitter to me but that is personal preference. the cake i ordered was standard They also sell fresh sandwhiches and orange juice. I would come here again if i was passing this side of town.

to put it simply, had better coffee had better tea had better food had better experience had better customer service just a nice chilled place to sit down and have a chat with your mates when you are shopping in town. Nevertheless, why not have better tea or coffee?

I like Pret. It’s the type of place you can pop in for a quick sandwich when you’re on the go. I very rarely have time to sit in when I grab lunch here — it’s usually take out and scoff it on the way to somewhere. The place is always busy and it’s because the food is fresh. Sandwiches, wraps, salads all made that morning and you can taste the difference. Their selection of eats moves away from the traditional ham or cheese sandwiches — throwing in some different ingredients such as cauliflower and pear! But it works well. My favourite here is the chipotle chicken and avocado sandwich — but today I grabbed a hoisin duck wrap and an apple juice. The apple juice is 100% squeezed apple juice — rare in a lot of places. It’s a great place for a quick lunch, albeit quite expensive, but you get what you pay for!

Another of my fav eateries! Pret serves hot and cold drinks, soups, salads, and a wide selection of sandwiches and baguettes all made fresh daily and on site. If you haven’t been to Pret, then i suggest you pay it a little visit! The company emphasizes the use of natural ingredients and advertises all sandwiches are made on the day of purchase in a kitchen at each location(with the stated exception of a few small outlets). Food left unsold at the end of the day is collected by charities. Try this place and you will be pleasantly surprised. Factoid– this place was part of the Mc Donald’s company. It is now owned and operated by the clothing retailer Fat Face!

Pret haters be gone. I love this place. Yes its expensive. Yes its a «brand». Yes it conservative with a small c with little to challenge the sandwich coffee seeking city centre folk. And — it is fabulous. Staff, atmosphere, product, ethics, packaging, brand all make me love this place. I am an out and proud Pret lover. Off for my lunch there now — what to enjoy today…

If there was an X-Factor for sandwich shops, Pret would murder everyone else in the competition. Literally gun them down Scarface style. I love Pret because it balances corporate consistency with a warm fuzzy ethical casual feel. This is displayed most effectively in the staff uniforms. A sort of chef-whites esque shirt with jeans/skinny pants. It feels as if pret is a knowing boss who lets you express yourself but knows how to keep that expression at a safe respectful distance from the consumer. Ok I can’t believe I just wrote that. Pret is here to appeal to certain types of people in a certain frame of mind. They like to whang on about their Organic, low air-mile-if-they-can-help-it, freshly prepared, higher welfare produce on their website, but they don’t hassle you about it unless you want to know more. So as well as all that stuff, the drinks, sandwiches, soups and wraps are pretty varied. Say what you like about their coffee, which I have never had but they do an amazing Earl Gray(with optional organic milk) and Tropical Green Tea, which comes in a lovely tea bag if you like tea bags like I do, it’s one of those almost nylon fine weave triangle bags that feel really silky if you rub them between your fingers. Pret make an unmissable christmas sandwich if you are reading this in november-january, which again strikes that perfect balance of being consistently produced but not processed and laser triangle cut. They’re sort of tellingly hand assembled but respectfully done so. Another great sandwich is the Pastrami and mustard sandwich, It has excellent quality pastrami on it, thin and flakey but substantially present in the sandwich. It has exactly the right amount of mustard on it so that it doesn’t swamp the bread but it has a definite presence. Calorie content is on the website, but not on the boxes. That’s fine because Pret has free Wifi!!! If you are mindfully consuming calories Pret can be dangerous, the sandwiches especially can be hiding a lot more mayonnaise than first thought, but I usually just eat half the sandwich or buy one of the Slim Prets(Half of one of the core range of sandwiches i. e BLT or Club). Pret obviously spends a lot of time lecturing its staff on being friendly because in my experience, they are At every one I go to. And they let you use their toilet if you’re not dining in AND they are always clean. Which for the city center is a pretty spectacular effort.

The coffee isn’t bad. It’s better than Starbucks, anyway. The food isn’t bad either. In fact I quite enjoy Pret’s warm falafel sandwich. To me, it doesn’t taste of plastic. It’s surprisingly good to say that it’s been standing there in its little metal heater cabinet all day. But I must agree with Alfie about the portion sizes. I bought a falafel sandwich the other day and could’ve easily eaten another one straight afterwards. And I am a mere girl. I’m sure it would take at least 3 or 4 tiny sandwiches to fill some of my big and manly friends up, which would cost them the best part of £15! It’s not worth it. Get a Boots meal deal and eat it on a bench.

About that Pret hating. I hate Pret. Its full of prets. Half size sandwiches? Where’s the other half of my sandwich? I need it so that I can use my body to break it down into energy and then use the energy to get through my day. Why do the prets here make soggy sandwiches? Why do they sell vegetarian sushi? Because they’re prets.

What’s with all the Pret hating on this here site? I actually don’t the place is all that bad. It has a good range of sandwiches that are crammed with interesting fillings and the prices aren’t overly unreasonable. My personal favourite is the All Day Breakfast sandwich, which is a tasty mix of sausage, egg, tomato and cress. Pret does get busy at certain times of the day, but there are quite a few staff working so the queues do usually move along ok. And I like the little chocalte brownies and muffins you can buy along with your sandwich. All in all makes a pretty good quick lunch by my standards.

Staying on the subject of cranberry sauce, I’ve developed a soft spot for Pret’s christmas veggie sandwich. Available throughout the whole month of December, it comprises generous slices of creamy brie, a scoop of pine nuts and pistachios, crunchy lettuce and delicious cranberry sauce. 10p of each sandwich goes to help the homeless too wether you’re eating in or taking out. This particular Pret is usually rammed at lunchtime but it’s one of the few places in town you can still get a fresh and wholesome sandwich, box of sushi or cup of soup mid afternoon. Their customer service is excellent too. I once complained about a stale sandwich and the manager offered me a complimentary lunch next time I went in including a drink and desert. I’d give them 4 stars but the coffee and décor are both lousy. Guess you can’t have everything…

Seriously, I’m developing real feelings of hatred towards this place now, I was talking with my tongue fully in my cheek on the last Pret review but the mood has changed. I stopped off in this place the other day purely for rain soaking avoidance purposes. Halfway through the most bland caffeinated experience of my young life I stood up, completely surprising even myself, and just walked out. My inner being had obviously decided that facing at Manchester torrent of cloud death was preferable to wasting anymore of my minutes in Pret A Manger.

Pret A Manger is one of my favorite places to buy a quick lunch when out and about. All of the food is delicious(I’ve tried nearly everything) and it’s not too much more expensive than buying some rubbish from a supermarket. Their coffee is reasonable and also quite cheap. This Pret in particular does get pretty full and sometimes you’ll be lucky to find a seat!
