Millet’s, now owned by Black’s, or by the company that owns Black’s, as the case may be, is very similar to Black’s, only marginally cheaper.
Whether or not you have to sacrifice quality of waterproof goods in order to save the money you would have spent in Black’s, is a mystery to which I have not got the answers. My personal preference would lie in saving money, and they still advertise the products as long lasting a durable, and it doesn’t say in brackets ‘but not as long lasting as the ones for £10 more at Black’s’.
Tents, blow up mattresses, that kind of gear, you know the score. Don’t be fooled by the ‘sale’ signs, because they’re always there.

If you’re already stuck in the middle of nowhere cold and freezing, it won’t help you to know that this Millets stocks a wide range of indoor and outdoor survival and camping gear from gas stoves, sleeping bags and blankets to flasks, pen knives and thermal hats.
If you’re still at home and planning to go on any kind of journey however, I’d swing by here first and stock up on some essential items before you leave. Every news bulletin there is on the TV and radio at the moment seems to involve some poor souls that have been stuck at a service station or motorway junction with no hot water or warm clothng for hours.
Me? I don’t go anywhere without a flask of bourbon on one hip and a flask of hot coffee on the other.

More so than a country & camping store, I like to think of this as the Arndale experience survival store.
Stocking everything you might need to make it through that classic harrowing and bleak shopping nightmare and perfectly positioned next to the pound stores– ie where it usually all becomes too much– Arndale Millets is a Godsend in a time of devils.

Millets is a good store to buy camping equipment and outdoor wear such as waterproof clothing. The store is a good size, located in the arndale centre. It sells everything you need for a camping trip, torches, paraffin lights, ground sheets, tents, pen knives and anything else you may need. With a great range of outdoor wear from names like Peter Storm and Berghaus you are sure to find very high quality products at reasonable prices.
