M&S is on two floors in the Trafford Centre. I have just been chilling today so went in just for a look around and realised they do food too, so I did a little bit of food shopping! This is one of my favourite stores for food. They also do clothes for men and women and children.

Small yet concise. This marks and spencers sells the best selling products of other stores and doesn’t do too badly. For this, I am talking about the good selection of food! I never fail to find my favourite bits and pieces whilst also finding other options. The clothing however is limited to the best sellers and isn’t to everyone’s taste. Not everyone wants to dress like a 40 year old woman.

Marks and Spencer usually tends to dominate whatever surrounds it. However, this branch in the Trafford Centre is understated. It also has one of the weirdest layouts I’ve ever experienced, and this makes things very confusing. At one point, I found myself in the shoe section, yet also right by the card and wrapping paper area but faced by the food hall as well! Usually you find that a menswear section, for example is just on one floor. But here it’s split over two. It meant that I had to ask a staff member where I could find some underwear. Kind of embarrassing. A better layout might have saved that! Sorry to go on about the layout, it’s just that it really is a bit weird! Apart from my fixation with layout, this Marks and Spencer’s is perfectly good and quiet when you go at 9pm in the evening like I did.

Really big spacious store, enabling them to fit a lot more furniture etc. in. The Christmas sale was much better here than at other local Marks & Spencer’s that try to ‘do it all’. If you are wanting Marks and Spencer homewares then this is the place to come.

M&S in well documented however this store has a lot to offer. It was refurbished last year and at that point they introduced a mezzanine level. This allowed them to stock a lot more items however some may feel is quite cramped especially around Christmas and busy times. The food section is on the ground floor when there is also some mens ware. It would be better if this level was designated to food only as again it is too busy at times and customers leave rather than wait to be served. Not sure the self service tills speed it up much. There is a nice café on the second floor and I am quite partial to their toasties.

A very interesting Trafford Centre store — I bet neither Mr Marks nor Mr Spencer ever dreamed their humble beginnings would lead to a shop like this! In an attempt to increase their floor-space the Trafford Centre M&S has put in two extra floors in the last year or so – a mezzanine level between the ground floor and the first floor, and another floor half a level up from the first floor. The result is a surprisingly large store and four floors with quite low ceilings, although skillful lighting prevents it from feeling too claustrophobic. As you might therefore expect, the range of goods they can now offer is huge, and comparable to other large Trafford Centre stores such as Debenhams(who are presumably their main rivals). The food section is quite big too, and I would say is probably the closest thing to a supermarket you’ll find in the Trafford Centre. I’ve shopped in the store a number of times and have always been impressed; with the added convenience of Trafford Centre car parking, this M&S comes highly recommended — provided you can time your visit outside the Trafford Centre crush-hour.
