Nice atmosphere & friendly staff, but was not happy that you get a cosy little corner, & at 7.30 get asked to move as they remove the chairs in certain areas of the bar to make more standing room. may have been that it was the day before Valentine’s & they were expecting a big turn out? But we were quite comfy in our chairs.

Lloyds is just a spoons but very compacted with chairs and tables in odd arrangements to fit as many as humanly possible into the space. It’s loud and noisey at most times, definitely not a place to hang out for intellectual conversation and high brow atmosphere… If you just want some decently priced food that is basic but decent and some reasonably priced ale then this place ain’t too shabby, good for the pre/post odeon hang out!

Lloyds at the Printworks, like any other Wetherspoon, provides reasonable food and drink at reasonable prices. Nothing more, nothing less. At one time they had cheap drinks available like bottles of wine under £5 or 3 beers for £5 but I haven’t seen those offers for a long time now. Dropping in for a drink after work before the weekend it can be extremely busy though service at the bar is pretty good. They do serve some interesting and different beers. I like the Devils Backbone American IPA, which at £3.19 is a decent drink. I do like the themed evenings such as Thursday being curry night. The Welsh curry called Flaming Dragon is delicious. Like: Drink choice and central location. Dislike: Noisy/Rowdy atmosphere when it’s too busy. And stupid door staff.

Terrible customer service! Stood at the bar for 10 minutes with workers just walking past and pottering around. Will not be coming here again! Never in my life have I been to a busy bar and there has been no one behind the bar and the bar staff just wandering around and pretending you’re not there. Ridiculous comes to mind.

Handy pre-drink bar to start with before you head to the big clubs around the Printworks. A good place for a post or pre pint for the cinema. The prices are reasonable and they have a decent choice of beers available. Food is also available here so the traditional beer and a burger. Most certainly not the best bar around the area but handy for a pint if thirsty for one.

This Lloyds bar is a fine one — fair enough you’ve seen it all before but I’d hope no-one is coming along to shoot me if I admit I’ve had a few drinks in here, in my time. One thing — it is always rammed at the bar so choose your drinking time wisely. Or take it in turns so you don’t get ridiculously frustrated and it ruins your night. I had some OK cocktails here last time I came, and I remember a friend teaching us all her netball songs. Good times but we moved on quickly I think. Its a Wetherspoons and you get what you expect in terms of crowd(well, you are in the Printworks) and prices.

I can feel the blood rushing to head when I think of bars such as Lloyds. Along with bars such as Wetherspoons, Baa bar and Tiger Tiger to name a few I would rather be sitting in a prison cell all night. The food would be nicer, the people easier to get along with and the décor would be less depressive… I also have higher hopes that the place will not stink of wee. If you find me in this bar in the near future… call me an ambulance because the only way this would happen is if I had lost my tiny mind!

In the Printworks in Manchester there are quite a few bars there. I very rarely go there but when I do I normally stop of in Lloyds bar for a few with some mates. The main reason I go hears is purely because the drinks are cheap and it can have a decent environment. I only ever go at the weekend so I cant tell you if it is any decent during the week, unfortunately I work and I cant do work with a hangover these days. Lloyds is really popular with the younger people mainly because it does offer cheap drinks, it is a littlie chavvy but that’s not to bad, you sort of expect that in the print works these days. It a good place to start the night out but personally I would not make a habit of staying there all night. Like I said its good music an cheap drink, ideal in these hard times

Another brand in the same group that own Wetherspoons, Lloyds no1 are best summed up as a ‘spoons with music. The drink prices are largely similar and they enjoy the same diverse selection of regional and international beers bith draft and bottled. The food here is again standard pub grub menus but generally is of good quality for the price. On a Friday and Saturday evenings it is a popular meeting place due to it being within the Printworks building so close to a large number of bars and restaurants, as well as being in the city centre and close to both Victoria train station and adjacent to Shudehill tram and bus stations. The music in here is typically clubby in the evenings but covers the poppy chart range during the day, and is generally at a level which still allows conversation, though is turned up at night.

Cheap night out, not the best location but good for bar hopping!

JD Weatherspoon’s, Lloyds No. 1 offers a cheap night out in Manchester with some of the best priced drinks in town. They also offer bog standard run of the mill pub grub, again at prices that aren’t going to break the bank. A great bar worth a visit if your out on a shoestring budget or maybe when you start to run out of cash. PS. Please don’t be surprised if the place looks different from the last time you visited — No, no. its not a new independent owner who taken over its just Mr JD Weatherspoon’s marketing tricks!

Put quite simply, Lloyds is representative of everything that is wrong with chain bars. Watch in horror as Jim from IT paws at Pam from HR, witness a call centre team leader downing his eighth bottle of beer, feel concern for the woman asleep in the corner. And it is still only 5:45 in the PM. The volume of the music, invariably a souped-up dance mix of an actually pretty good R&B song, will remove the need for talking. If you have been dragged along by work, this could be a good thing. In fairness, the prices are reasonable and there is always a promotion running on a variety of drinks. However, is this enough to warrant a visit to Lloyds? Or more specifically, is anything enough to warrant a trip to Lloyds?

Lloyds No is a very popular chain of bars that function under the Weatherspoon’s umbrella. Lloyd’s is ideally location in the Printworks in the centre of Manchester. Other than the location the best thing about Lloyds is the price of drinks, I regularly go here on a Saturday night as it is a cheap way to start a night out. Lloyds possible has some of the cheapest rounds in Manchester. The pub itself is inside the Printworks and boasts quite a lot space, the seating is limited on an evening but most people will want to stand when having a drink so the can socialise. This music on a Saturday is dance; thy quite often have there own DJ there who is really good, this helps create a lively atmosphere. Lloyds is generally aimed at people in the 20’s, on a weekend it is packed full of people looking for cheap drinks and a laugh. Lloyds is well worth a visit if you are ever in the area, it is right beside the cinema if you fancy a post or pre movie drink of even a bite to eat because the offer quite a good variety of food, and again these are all priced reasonably. It is also beside Norwegian Blue so idea for a pub crawl, there are lots of other popular bars in the area so I recommend you play a visit if you are around

Lloyds No. 1 just across from the Filmworks cinema, within the Printworks complex isn’t the best place to get a pre or post-film pint,(that’s Sinclair’s Oyster Bar around the corner,) but it’s certainly the handiest if you’re pushed for time. Lloyds is chain bar, by the Wetherspoons people, so as you might guess the alcohol prices are reasonable, and they have decent beer. The location of this Lloyds would be a bit pokey(down a back street) if it weren’t for the Printworks being in the same place — this is just out at the back of the Printworks.
