Barista is a small Café /Bar situated in the middle of ‘The Rock’- the busy shopping area in Bury town centre. Today was my first visit on an outing with mother and I enjoyed it. I ordered the home-made Butternut Squash and Basil Soup and a Mature Cheddar and Caramelised Red Onion sandwich with a side salad. My mum opted for one of the days specials — a Roasted Red Pepper and Goats Cheese Flatbread, which came toasted with chips. Both meals were freshly cooked and the service was friendly. We had shopping to do, so were in and out within 35 minutes, which I can imagine will be ideal for those busy weekdays with the people of the nearby businesses and shops popping in on their lunch hour. The rest of the menu seemed standard and what you’d expect from a town centre café. The prices were also reasonable. I wouldn’t travel across town to go there — but if you’re passing by when shopping and fancy a quick lunch, i’d recommend it. It’s certainly better than many of the alternatiive eateries in Bury.
