We have been a few times to this superb Indian restaurant. The lunchtime menu is well priced but a little uninspiring but the Wednesday night«Gourmet nights» make up for this. One fixed price buys a starter, main course, vegetable side dish, rice or nan. The chef will even make dishes that are not on the extensive menu — I happen to love chana aloo — and the waiters are attentive even at busy times. I have taken visiting friends there and they have all loved it.

I have had two completely differing experiences at this restaurant. Our first visit was extremely good, which included quality food /price and service. The second was the complete opposite of the scale, the service was slow and poor, the chicken in both our meals was substandard — it was that very strong chicken smell and taste which we have had at other indian restaurants and we have subsequently never revisited. We had to leave all the chicken pieces and complained to the waiter, he never passed this on to the management so when we came to pay we had to discuss the problems again which resulted in a reduced bill, but I should not have paid anything. However we will not be returning again so it is their loss. Don’t be taken in by the special offers, nothing compares with quality food. The ‘Red Rose’ next door is far superior and the ‘Taj’ at the top of the High street beets them all.

We visited this restaurant on Saturday 24th October after being reccomended by the local barman. It did not disappoint, it was very busy but they squeezed us in. The waiters were very charming and friendly and so helpful, I asked for a dish that was not on the menu and they could not have been more obliging. We are from London and used to some high class Indian restaurants but this one scores as one of the best — we will definitely be back.

The Spice Den Caters in contemporary Indian Cusine where families and parties are more than welcome. They are open for lunch and evening meals seven days a week with an extensive range of fine wines and beers to suite every pallet. The fine Indian Cusine is expertly cooked then presented with all the expertise one would expect from a top food restaurant. Situated in a prime position in the old market place Lowestoft, there is ample car parking space around the vicinity. The décor is tastefully selected to meet with the guests as they enjoy their meals, along with background indian music which makes for the atmosphere One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve eaten in, very authentic with a feel of India.
