Okay, yes I’m a bit(a huge) coffee snob — so of course I will sing the praises of Workshop. But, it’s well deserved. In all my time visiting this small coffee shop, I’ve never had a bad coffee here. Yes, you may have to wait a little longer than your regular, chain branch on the high street but that’s because what you get from these guys is well crafted coffee, made with skill(and love). It’s around £3 for a little cappuccino, which may not be up everyone’s street — it can seem a lot for a little cup — but what it lacks in size it makes up for in taste. The branch also offers it’s own blends to take home with you, along with a load of great advice on how to get the best brew at home from the friendly baristas.

This place has the best coffee around in this otherwise overly touristy and crowded area. The staff is friendly and professional. Though being absolutely tiny, the interior is nice, though a little typical for the sort of place. Really good coffee is the main selling point though, and it goes a long way.

Even though they moved to a different location they still kept the same baristas which are very friendly, experienced and can make a great cup of coffee. I really like the fact that they offer you a glass of water while you wait for your coffee which give you a chance to clear your palette and enjoy the tasty drink. Also, apart from their normal espresso drinks they do batch brew & aeropress Even though they still make great coffee I couldn’t get myself to give them 4 stars as the new place is not that great. I can see they tried to go with a «workshop» theme for their interior but I am not a big a fan of the new look as it looks a bit ran down & cold. The sits are not very comfortable either and they also don’t have a bathroom in store which doesn’t make it an ideal place if you want to sit down.

If you want good coffee, 4 Stars. If you want a balance of factors, you are looking at 3*. Been twice now, for a ‘grab-n-go’ coffee when I get off at Oxford Street Tube, or I walk down that direction. Will re-review in a few more. + Coffee is great quality no doubt, but about 20% more expensive than other places(£2.80-£3 for a filter coffee to go. Filter coffee didn’t seem freshly brewed as it was poured from a decanter. + Beans: 3 Columbian and 1 Rwandan(read here: ) and you can buy by the bag(£9-£12). Haven’t bought from them, but presume they can grind them for you if you are that way inclined(but you aren’t right? Come on…) — It nearly always is ‘to-go’; the sit-down area is in the back is always full and can’t seat more than 12 people comfortably at a time anyway, and you won’t want to stand awkwardly around the front except for… + … the décor & Staff are lovely. Two lads working behind the custom Workshop barista machine are good fun, and even accidentally gave me the nickname ‘Gen’. I’ll roll with it. — Has Porlex grinders(£42) and Aeropress for sale(£25), but if you buy them at that price you should be shot. ? Food: Don’t know, haven’t tried! Looked nice. Some of the better coffee spots in the area, but don’t go for a casual sit-down/work as you may not get a seat.
