My Friday lunch treat. They mostly have everything available still… sometimes they are out of those tuna mustard triangle thingies which are bloody lovely. I really like Wasabi’s sushi too — always go for a salmon box which I also think is really good value. Their hot stuff is also really good value and huge portions. It does get really busy in there though so try and avoid the lunch time rush.

My colleagues come here a lot. And when I say a lot, I mean most days a week A LOT! I finally gave in and went along with them today and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I’m a bit touch and go with sushi, but this was pretty tasty! I didn’t have to put much soy sauce or wasabi on, and everything tasted very fresh. The bento boxes are quite filling, but I wasn’t actually starving at lunch time. I had the vegetarian box as I’m not a salmon fan and most things had salmon, my friend had the Pumpkin salad which I tried and was delicious too. One thing I was slightly horrified at though was the calorie count of some of the dishes. I don’t particularly want to eat 800⁄900 calories at lunch when I’m having what Wasabi call, ‘a salad’. I do love Itsu as there’s more leafy salad in their dishes and also more variety in their boxes, but Wasabi have more of a choice of hot food… I can’t decide which I like better out of the two!

I’ve eaten at a few of these places — it’s a chain which does Japanese food: sushi, rice dishes This one on Fleet St is small-ish and I picked up a swift dinner here last night. I opted for the chicken curry which comes with rice — great value at about £4.50 but it would be nice if you had a choice of rice or noodles. The curry wasn’t great, but maybe that’s because it was 7pm and it had been out all day. The hot food definitely isn’t fresh, and I’m not sure how great the sushi would be at the end of the day. Still, it’s pretty good value and very filling.

I walked past this place on the way to my job interview over a month back but finally made it here this week. It was pretty much as I expected. Nice bowl style cups of rice(very sticky style) with curry, teriakyior spicy porkI have eaten twice and have to admit it is rather filling and offers pretty good value for money. The place is takeaway only, no seats here and between 12−2pm it is full of office workers wanting something hot and spicey or cold and healthly. The sushi is pretty dam good. I love the way into way i see the workers preparing it around a table in the middle of closed store. Expect to pay £4.40 for curry and rice, £4 for chicken noodles or 2 for £1 or 2 for £1.50 on the sushi’s. One slight issue, this place is popular which is a good sign but i am worried about the amount of plastic they use on a daily basis. It cant be good for the enviroment and this is why they lose a star on my ranking. Enjoy!!!
