Warwick Arms

A real find somewhat off the beaten track in Kensington. A nice pub that serves outstanding Indian food. The food was tasty and attractively displayed. There were a reasonable number of vegetarian selections. Not very crowded or loud.

This is a delightful pub that has previously been well reviewed. I enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Marsala. The naan required sauce and tasted well with it. If I have the chance to return while in town, I will. Service behind the bar was very kind.

In bustly London where it can take ages to get to the front of the bar for a drink, the Warwick Arms is a little but of peace. It transports you to sonewhere morenlike a leafy village rather than the Borough of Kensington.
It is a little on the quiet sleepy side but I kind of like that.
The pub is also home to indian restaurant serving thalis, byrianis and curries. Perfect accompaniment to a cool beverage after a hard day at work.
Outdoor seeting means you can enjoy the nice weather now we are hitting summer in London

Although this pub is small it is very cosy and has an outside seating area. Great Ale selection and very good curry, reasonably priced as well. All in all this is a nice place with a good feel.

The Warwick Arms has lots going for it: it’s a very traditional pub, decorated with all sorts of antiques and with a fabulous display of flowering baskets outside in the summer. It has a long bar and lots of nooks and crannies inside, and plenty of nice outdoor seating too (although some of that is on the Warwick Road, which is a bit of a racetrack. There are quieter tables too along the side road). It’s often reasonably quiet in the evening, too, if you want a quiet pint (it gets very busy during the day).
The real ales are Fullers, and are usually well kept, and they have an Indian food franchise there, which does very good value food — nicer than Masala Zone in my view, and cheaper. Staff are friendly, too.
The killer for me — and why it drops a point — is the price of beer here. It was the first pub outside Soho I know to breach the £3 a pint level, and that was well before the latest increase in beer duty. That’s a huge pity. I still go there, but usually only for a pint or two

One of our locals, a 10 minute walk north from Earl’s Court along the Warwick Road.
The location isn’t terribly encouraging at first sight: the Warwick Road is a bit of a motorway and the pub is opposite Homebase. But there’s a small side road which provides some respite, and once inside you are not aware of the traffic. It gets very busy at lunchtimes and after work with local office workers, and is also a stop-​off point for visitors to various events at Earl’s Court Exhibition centre (concerts and the Beer Festival) on their way back to their hotels.
The interior is traditional, with lots of wood, and different areas to sit — one area with tables and chairs, another with sofas by the fire, a brick-​lined snug, and lots of seats outside. The interior is decorated with a varied and haphazard selection of pictures, prints and — in one corner — old record sleeves, and the ceiling is adorned with pots and kettles and the like from antique shops.
They sell the usual range of Fullers’ beers, usually well kept, although they are at the top end of the price range — that’s Kensington for you. They also have an extensive Indian food menu which (as wilk says) is served until closing time at 10pm. (They very occasionally stop serving food a little early if they are very quiet so, if you are going there after 9pm, ring ahead to check). The quality is very good for the money — thalis start at around £7 — and is a viable alternative to going to a restaurant around here.

Good local pub; quiet enough to get a seat but busy enough not to be sad. Keeps a good cellar (Fullers) and much aided by the fact they serve food right up to closing time.
