I wound up here on a friends birthday, having early evening drinks before heading off into the night. I’d embarked upon the evening straight from work, and consequently hadn’t eaten dinner, hoping to pick something up en route or in the pub. I walked past this pub and saw huge boards advertising jacket spuds, sandwiches and light pub grub. ‘Wonderful’ i thought. So i walked in asking for a cheese baguette, it was quarter to seven,(the kitchen closed at 7), they refused to serve me food, saying food had stopped. Why were the boards still outside? Why say the kitchen closed at 7 when that isn’t so? So my friend and i sat outside with a pint, we had to eat his birthday cake to line our stomachs! Prices were ok, but the service was terrible. The locals monopolised the outside seating, shouting from table to table, being rowdy and smoking(not cigarettes). I won’t be returning, and advice you not to go.
