I recently took a trip to London, and by far the best meal I had while I was there was at Union Jack’s. I ordered the «fish-​in-​a-​bag,» which was trout cooked with mussels and potatoes in tin foil. The flavor combinations were great, and everything was cooked perfectly.
As an American, I also appreciated that the tap water had ice in it (a rarity in England).
I went here during the week and had no problem getting a table, but I can see that a reservation might be needed on the weekend. If I’m ever back in the area, I would definitely go here again.

Another one of Jamie Oliver’s ventures serving traditional British dishes. The food is good value for money though some of the portions could be a bit bigger (IMHO). On the other hand their fish&chips was probably the biggest I have ever seen!
I walk past it rather often at seems to be very popular so to avoid disappointment I think making a reservation is a good idea, especially on the weekends.
