I went to Tuk Tuk for takeaway during the afternoon. The waiters were very nice and friendly. I’m allergic to peanuts so I opt’ed to the spicy chicken noodles instead of a pad thai, expecting it to be similar to pad kee mao. Also ordered a thai iced milk tea to go. My expectations were low since the meal was so cheap — £4.50 for the noodles and £2 for the thai iced tea. I don’t think I’ve had worse Thai food my entire life. The noodles were oily and did not taste at all like Thai food. The milk tea was watered down and tasted like I boiled a tea bag and added milk and sugar to it. Bottom line — I’ll never go back even if I only had £5 and was starving.

This is my go to place in Soho for a Thai fix pre or post drinks. A great selection on the menu and all very reasonably priced. The Thai calamari are a favourite but can be a bit hit and miss, sometimes over cooked. Would recommend the Chicken Pad Thai and Green Curry. The décor is more greasy spoon café but that doesn’t detract from how good the food is.

This place is alright for a quick bite to eat. The food is average, the service slightly spotty, but the prices are cheap. It’s also right across the street from Biju Bubble Tea, which is delicious. I had the Buddhist Delight, craving some broccoli. However, there was a minimal amount of vegetables and quite a lot of white rice. The vegetables were cooked properly and were very good, but there just were not enough of them. My dinner guest got the green curry, and it was just average. With the curry, you have to pay for the rice separately but our waiter did not mention this; luckily we saw it on the menu. All in all, it’s fairly cheap and faster than the average restaurant, but I will most likely never come here again.

Ordered the Tom yam kai, which is noodles in Tom yum soup. Good portion size with decent amount of chicken, noodles, bean sprouts and mushrooms. Soup had the distinctive taste of Tom yum; sour and slightly spicy. Unfortunately it was rather watered down so had lost its ‘oomph’. Oh well, next time we’ll try something else on the menu.

They get all five stars for quality of food, ambience, hospitality, price and authenticity and location. Ordered crispy duck. Chicken satay, classic chicken fried rice and mei goreng chicken. All excellent food loved it

Disgusting. Chinese food dressed up as Thai food. The dishes were bland and the chicken in the ‘green curry fried rice’ was fried and hard as a rock. The owner came out and said ‘oh it’s ok it’s just like that’. Avoid at all costs. The people running this place are not Thai, neither is the food.

Do not go here. It’s not good and the drunk people inside don’t know what they’re spending their money on. It’s cheap, cheerful and convenient if you’re around the area and need a quick Asian bite. It doesn’t know whether it’s Thai or Chinese. What I do know is that it’s awful! I had the spicy roast duck noodle soup and my friends got the same and a pad Thai. All were competing for the prize of worst Asian food in London. The only thing that was good here was the Asahi beer. It they messed that one up, I’d be really worried.

This place is listed as a Thai restaurant. But it’s really not. They have a smattering of Thai, Malaysian, Vietnamese and even some Chinese food. The prices are low, 5 pounds or so. But the quality and quantity is also mediocre. I had some Pad Thai. It wasn’t really enough so I had another order of soup noodles. So my meal ended up being 12 or 13 lbs, vs. the 7 or 8 lbs that I thought I signed up for. If you’re really not that hungry and just want a light bite in the neighborhood, this place works. If you want a proper meal, probably not. By the way the staff is all Chinese.

A cheap, fast place is you want decently-tasting noodles or rice dishes. Chicken pad Thai was alright, but I wish it had been more flavorful(however, it’s difficult to beat the £4.90 price). Good for a quick lunch.

As a Bloombury campus student, Tuk Tuk meets all of my essential requirements for eating«off-campus»: location, price, and taste. I really enjoyed coming here for dinner after lectures or before starting a long night of studying in the library. It’s also right across the street from my current favourite bubble tea place so you can have a delicious meal and grab some tea for dessert. For the price you get a nice portion of food. I was actually surprised considering this is right in the heart of Soho but I’m not complaining. Great for an(international) student budget. The noodles here are the best. I’ve had both the Singaporean style fried vermicelli which is awesome if you like heat. My favourite is the Chicken green curry with egg fried rice; mild and creamy, highly recommend. The chicken was cooked really well and I liked the flavour of the green curry. The fried rice was also nice and moist, just rice and egg so it’s very simple. Everything on the menu looks really good, I can’t wait to come back and try more!

After a long day of walking round that London there’s northing better than sitting in a place that your mate has suggested and trying it for the first time. The staff are pretty decent but not very talkative which was fine by me. However the food was excellent I had bbq beef in a noodle soup and prawn toast. The only thing is the bill hadn’t got the items listed or priced clearly. We knew it was roughly correct but it isn’t smart service to just write a total on the bill. However I’d go back and drag other people with me.

I will keep this short as I just took away one dish which I was the green curry chicken with white rice. Simply put this is probably the worst incarnation of this dish I’ve ever had. Th rice to chicken ratio was way too high, and there was only a tiny amount of curry to boot. The chicken was of the breaded kind, which leads me to believe this chicken is used in their other dishes such as lemon chicken too. This was much like breaded chicken with some green curry gravy drizzled on top. Disappointed Update: forgot to mention that this thing had one thing going for it… Which is that it’s relatively cheap

Enjoyable Thai food with great service and reasonable prices. Menu is simple and they have photos to help. :) We ordered a chicken pad thai to split … which came out to 4.50 pounds — close to 8 total with tax. The meal fed both of us. We loved how tender the chicken was … we always seem to lament the chicken we get back in the States. The veggies fresh and the tamarind sauce — just right. Noodles were prefect and not too sticky. We loved it! Definitely a great fast, easy, and affordable choice in the SoHo district!

And you would think good noodles are only found in chinatown… N O! Finally stepped foot in this place. Pretty good prices considering the area. Food came promptly. Prompt– as in within 5 minutes. Literally! Mountain size portions yet delicious, hopefully not with msg! The calamari was a let down, or let’s just say sides are not recommended. would definitely come back again! 2 noodles and a side was just £8! Can’t believe it right, neither could I.

I had lunch here recently. I will definitely try other places nearby before I have a lunch here again. It wasn’t bad, per se, but it certainly wasn’t good enough to repeat. I ordered the Monk’s Delight which theoretically includes vegetables and tofu and rice. The rice was there in good measure, but I think I counted 2, maybe 3 small cubes of tofu. The portion size was quite small and bland. The service was not particularly good, but they brought the mains quickly. Then the size of spring rolls I ordered came when I was halfway through with my main. The sauce that comes with the spring rolls was tasty.

I’ve been here a few times already. It’s mostly when I’m on my own and wanting a quick and cheap meal as I couldn’t be bothered to cook something at home after a long day of hard work. The food satisfies the purpose. The place itself is nothing to write home about. The selections are quite southeast asian varied. From Nasi Goreng to Pad Thai. Sweet sour chicken on steamed rice or even dumplings(which I thought had a bit of a thick wanton wrap). When I was here last, I tried the mixed seafood Udon stir fry. The portion is not too extravagant(which is perfect for me). For example, in comparison to the portions in Young Cheng(Shaftesbury Avenue), Tuk Tuk’s servings are smaller. There were enough seafood pieces(of prawns, squid, mussel meats and crab meats). The simplicity of the taste is good enough for me. What I appreciate about this place is the fact that you get what you expect. Honest food I’d say. Probably why I will keep coming back(and yes… mostly when I’m on my own).

For about £11 per person you could order the set meal for two: soup, an appetizer platter, steamed rice, green chicken curry, stir fried vegetables, and beef with garlic sauce = quite a bargain! Although it was a bargain and we had variety for our meal, the quality was lower than expected. The appetizer platter included stale/old sides, not fresh at all. The spare ribs were dry, the fish cakes were stale, but the eggrolls were decent. The soup was fulfilling = mushrooms, cilantro, spicy/sour broth. The green chicken curry was decent but the other two plates were way too salty. I had mixed feelings about our meal because we had a chance to try a little bit of everything but the quality was on a seesaw scale. Hate to burst your bubble but this is a Thai restaurant run by Chinese people.
