I’m giving it 3 stars because its a better option than going to Wasabi or Itsu. They have premade sushi boxes, prices are comparable to the other chains. They also have a display case selling sushi items by the piece, for around 1 – 1.20 per piece. My receipt gave me a coupon for £1 off the next order, so thats handy. Quality wise, its OK. Not the best but I’d definitely go here over Wasabi if I needed a sushi fix.

I eat a lot of sushi(my profile picture is of sushi) and I work at a Japanese-owned sushi restaurant and this was nowhere near sushi. I thought that since they prepare the sushi fresh every morning, it’d be good even though it was sitting in boxes in the fridge. It was horrible. If you love sushi, don’t do it. Even if you’re desperate for it. After 4PM, there’s a discount on the sushi and miso soup because they’ve got to get rid of it. So if you want a good deal and don’t mind it not being authentic, then it might be okay. For me, the tuna was especially bad. I had a really bad after taste from it.

I love this place. Whenever I’m hosting at home I make sure to order a couple of platters of mixed sushi. The quality and the service is superb. After 4 or 4:30 on weekdays he does it all 40% discounted. You end up with way more than you ever would in a restaurant for less than £20!

After a long redeye flight from the states, I wandered aimlessly around my hotel to find something that would satisfy my sushi craving. I was solo so a fancy sit down lunch at Nobu didn’t seem right. I walked in an out of Pret, EAT and Tesco — none of which had sushi that looked remotely edible. The sandwiches in there didn’t look much better — talk about mayo overload! I lucked out and ran intoTobiko. Super fresh sushi sold by the piece or in pre-made sets. Doesn’t have a real dining area — it looks like they’re mainly set up for delivery or takeout. It hit the spot — the fish was fresh and since it’s sold by the piece — you get exactly what you want(no useless cucumber rolls). Pretty good value and the people there were as nice as can be. For business travelers — you should know they don’t take American Express… this made for an extra trip back to the hotel to get the Visa, but it was totally worth it.

I have to say I can’t find a fault with either the food or the staff at Tobiko. The range of freshly prepared sushi and sashimi appears overwhelming at first sight but rather than scare you away it just draws you back to try something different the next time and trust me, once you visit there will be a next time! During Winter I usually have soup and donburi as it is oh so tasty and colleagues in the office have also become addicted after having to endure the enticing smell that fills the room once you lift the lid on the recyclable cardboard tray, whilst I have eel another favours chicken and another salmon but all three are great! And the staff, a friendlier bunch you will find it hard to beat, saying goodbye results in just about everyone pausing what they are doing to turn and say«thank you» and«goodbye» and with the £1 off your next order sweetener I find myself saying«Arigato!» quite a lot. Visit after 4pm and most items are reduced to half price which means, as far as I’m aware, that everything is fresh that day and not ‘yesterdays’ stock

When i worked in Leicester Square — i used to love going to this place for lunch — even though the queue was often out of the door(Given the size of the shop that only took about 3 or 4 people though) Being able to choose exactly what you wanted to eat was great. Or if you werent feeling creative then the pre-made up boxes always have a great variety. In winter their different soups are fantastic because they’re not the heavy creamy or tomato based soups that you usually get in the shops. Highlights — duck rolls — slightly unusual but the way they do it works(for me at least) When i’m passing through the area i still stop in to get some lunch there and i’ll keep doing it because they’re always friendly and happy to make up something if you ask them.

This is great to grab a box of sushi to go and eat in the sunshine on the Piazza in Covent Garden. Great selections, fast service although there’s ALWAYS queues at lunchtimes. You can sit in as there are a few tables but I think it’s best to takeaway. There are lots of Wasabi type take aways springing up but I think the sushi from Tobiko is superior and you get higher quality fish.

There is an outside space in summer with 4 tables or so if you want to sit down.

This is a sushi takeaway in Garrick Street just around the corner from Leicester Square. It’s convenient and great when you’re in a hurry to have a delicious and healthy lunch. Unfortunately, this little sushi shop has no room for any tables and doesn’t provide a bar style eating area either. But it’s still fabulous when you’re in a hurry. You can choose from a prepacked selection of delicious shushi for a minimum charge. Or pick and choose from their wide range of single pieces — with everything from California rolls to duck rolls. Delicious and cheap Japanese«fastfood» eating.
