I tend to think the word«hidden gem» is a huge cliché but considering its location and charming views, Time is definitely a hidden gem. You probably wouldn’t even see it if you were driving past because it’s away from the main road, overlooking the river in Brentford. I went on a sunny Saturday and fell in love with the terrace. They have several bottled beers or Moretti and Heineken on draft. Their menu consists of burgers, steaks, fish & chips, salads, and desserts. Cocktails are available as well, and during happy hour(6−8pm) it’s just £10 for 2 cocktails. Burgers are served on a wooden skate with generous portion of «steak fries»(or thickly cut chips as Brits would say). My favorite part about this place is the massive terrace, river views and relaxed atmosphere, but thankfully the food is great too. My only critique is that service was a bit slow and had to walk in to pay because my server wasn’t coming out to collect my card for payment, but I think that’s a testament to the slow moving vibe of this place.

Grounds Coffee Shop is situated in a new development by the lock in Brentford. I have come here a couple of times for lunch and would thoroughly recommend it. The atmosphere is chilled and laid back. There is a wide variety of sandwiches, paninis etc to eat(I am also reliably informed that the cooked breakfasts are really yummy). However the best thing about Grounds is the fact that the food is really fresh. I like to get a baked potato, which comes with a yummy salad of olives, peppers, and sun dried tomatoes — much better than you average wilted lettuce leaves!!!
