The Yorkshire Grey

pooped in here for a quick drink fro the road. This was literally 20mins or sho before they were due to close.
It was a nice looking space which most if not all people had cleared out for the night. The bar staff were friendly and had some banter amongst themselves, I think thats always a good sign.
There is plenty of space to sit and, whilst i admit it was empty, you could hear yourself talk without shouting always a plus point!
I believe they did food alongside a range of beverages, some local micro brewery stuff was available.
As i was only briefly there thats all I can really tell you, it did seem like a nice place.

For a central London location, the Yorkshire Grey was surprisingly uncrowded on a Thursday night. It was busy with a good atmosphere but fortunately not wall-​to-​wall with people. A varied selection of beers and a good food menu. Ideal for groups of friends to hang around and just snack and drink! Only criticism is that the comfy sofas and chairs that used to be here have been replaced with rather bum-​numbing wooden chairs. But after a few drinks, who cares?

i went that lovely and friendly pub a cold monday evening for dinner. On friday night i had seen that area very
must be famous and trendy one. but on monday it was totally empty. forget it:)the dinner menu reasonably priced and i experienced with a delicious, tasty bbq chicken wings. try it:))

This is a busy pub on the corner of Grays Inn Road and Theobalds Road, which is open six days a week.
We visited the pub for dinner on a quiet Tuesday night, and were immediately impressed how light and airy it was, and ordered a pint of Peroni and Aspalls both were served perfectly and were chilled perfectly which was great for a hot night.
The dinner menu is reasonably priced and features among other things a great selection of nibbles and home made burgers. On a Tuesday night, these are on offer with a selection of craft beers for a tenner which is amazing value.
We sampled the Blues Burger which was a delicious home made burger, with bacon, blue sauce and topped with crisps. This was served with garlic fries which gave it a nice kick. It was a toss up between that and the Hanks BBQ Burger which also sounded delicious. We also sampled the Veggie Burger, which rather than the slab of fried stuff as is standard in a lot of venues, was a couple of delicious falafel pieces, with a tasty mayo.
Service was friendly and unobtrusive in an excellent venue to which which we will return.

This is a busy bustling pub at the corner of Grays Inn Road and Theobalds Road about 5 minutes walk from Chancery Lane tube. Its had a bit of an odd past, from being frequented by gangsters when it had its own brewery, to a connection with Lord Lucan.
It was completely gutted about ten years ago, and has been transformed into a lovely large airy room, with a bar, and a further function room upstairs. It has genuinely friendly staff and a nice buzzy atmosphere with low level music and no sport.
They serve up a great selection of beers both lagers and real and some of them regularly change them which is always a great sign. They serve food as well with a menu that is fairly traditional, good value and freshly cooked they do great sharing plates.
Clientele is mixed a lot of office staff tend to use it during the week, they are open Saturdays now as well. They are dog friendly as well as people, and the pub is immaculate and well maintained.
Its a much loved venue in the area and well worth a try

It’s the local pub that I often frequent because it’s a stones throw away from school. My classmates and I typically stop by after class for a few drinks/​pints. There isn’t anything fancy about it, but the prices are reasonable and the food is decent. I’ve tried the Chicken Salad, which is quite nice, and the Burger, which is also done well. Not bad for a quick bite!

A proper decent london pub, some good beers and pretty confortable. Can be hard to find a seat as tends get busy in the evenings too.

I like the Yorkshire Grey, don’t get me wrong. They offer a good pub atmosphere, a nice array of food options, and I’ve never had a problem popping in and getting a table easily. They do things properly. But in a city of pubs, it’s hard to make the distinction that really elevates you above the others.
Generally, I’ve found the staff at the Yorkshire Grey are always friendly, and offer good service. Their food is fresh and tasty, though both times I’ve been a little underwhelmed; maybe I’m just really hungry when I order, but the food always reads better on the menu than it ends up being.
Some perks include a large private party room I’m going to be taking advantage of in a few weeks for a holiday party, the selection of board games they have (scrabble and pints, anyone?), and the great location. It’s a good lunchtime spot, though I don’t think it’s set to be my local anytime soon.

A rather unimpressive free house. Has somewhat extortionate prices on its beers, given their commonness. Three casks, mostly uninteresting. Although, I did find Brakspear Bitter on cask, which I hadn’t had before and which was actually pretty decent; it was in good condition. There are much better pub options in the area so I would opt for those.

A nice pub that has had a bit of a chequered history in recent times, but seems to have put that firmly in the past.
The first thing you notice when you enter are the cosy booths, and the noce lighting. The bar serves a wide range of beers and wines the house white isn’t great for the price in my opinion, but there are some nicer ones that are slightly more expensive.
Staff are very friendly, and know their product (it was a staff member who made the wine suggestion).
A mainly media/​office staff crowd gives the bar a nice buzzy atmosphere, Friday night was absolutely nuts.
Tried the food, they seem to have got their act together, good selection of homecooked foods at competitive prices. They take that Taste card as well.
A really nice atmosphere, and an overall good experience.

I like all of the different seating areas in this pub. They have comfy leather couches if you want to be more chill, massive wooden tables if you want to have a more rustic dinner feel or your standard bar stools surrounding small tables.
The food has your standard pub grub. However its a bit on the pricey side. I ordered the seasoned chips and a pint of Guinness. All of which came up to £7. Ouch! To be fair it was a massive order of seasoned chips that could have suited three people. But £3+ for chips alone is a bit much.

My friends have used the upstairs lounge for performances known as Pub Classics, essentially opera in the pub. This used to happen on Monday nights and is well worth checking out, even if you do not think you like opera very much. The Yorkshire Grey lends itself very well to this type of event, its upstairs bar is self-​contained and cosy, and if there are enough people, they will open the bar so you don’t have to go all the way downstairs for a drink.

It’s alright, nothing too fancy.
Always tends to be busy (due to the location), to be honest at close to £3.60 a pint there are better and cheaper options nearby.
