Unpretentious, back street boozer at the heart of the local community. No food, just reasonably priced alcohol and conversation. There is now a conservatory which has really opened up the bar area and brought in extra light. The ale is a major draw here with beer from Salisbury’s Hop Back Brewery and it’s well kept too. The pub features regularly in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide. It takes some seeking out but if you like traditional pubs then you’ll be glad that you made the effort.

Good, honest pub serving proper beer. I can highly recommend the Summer Lightning.

The CAMRA South West London pub of the year 2008. Actually, I reckon this pub have taken that tag year, after year, after year. The Sultan is known by ale drinkers for miles around, but yet unheard of by many in local Wimbledon, Morden, Mitcham, Earlsfield, Tooting or Colliers Wood. Suppiled by the Hopback brewery of Sailsbury, the Sultan is a homely pub in the backstreets near South Wimbledon and Colliers Wood tube stations. It havely features real ale and has a dartboard, a regular quiz night, a small beer garden and takes card payments too. It has wine, but beer at under £3 a pint is knig here. There is real variety of real ale and this is the place to not mention that you drink lager, instead sit down, have some crisps, nuts and a pint of the Sumer Lightening or Stout. You will love it.
