My wife and I stopped in for a couple of late night drinks. This would have been a 4 star review until closing time. I ordered our last 2 drinks 15 min prior to closing. Our last waiter/bartender of the night was very rude about letting me know that we only had 15 min left. I’m honestly surprised that he served me. But 15 min is plenty of time to have 1 last drink and the bar was still full of people. As we were finishing our drinks(1 sip left) and standing up and putting on our coats, one of the other wait staff was yelling throughout the bar that it was closing and clapping his hands at us. Now I understand it’s closing time and we have to go, but obviously we were ready to walk out the door. I’m sure this place is just as good as any other average pub to have dinner and a drink in London, but the late night rude servers was enough to make me steer clear of other Taylor Walker bars.

Popped in here for lunch and a pint. Comfortable seating. Friendly staff. Good food. Good selection of beers. We shared a Wagyu burger and each had a pint. 27+ GBP. Very enjoyable hour. Close to Victoria Station on the one side and Buckingham Palace on the other. Family friendly too. 3.5÷5.

Disgusting is the only word I can say. The decades old carpet smelled funky and the amount of dust flying around is horrific. Food was mediocre and the draft beer was flat. My wife said the waiter stunk of body odor and wanted to leave as soon as the check was paid for.

Went on holiday from the U.S. and we found this place while doing some touristy stuff in London. My friends and I loved this bar(or should I say pub)! We were attended right away and had no complaints about the service!

Nice pub which wasn’t overly full, and we could get a seat at a table. I didn’t order food, but had some amazing mulled wine, which is probably a seasonal drink there. Music was on, but wasn’t so loud that we couldn’t chat. Bathrooms weren’t very clean though.

Fish and chips were great. The steak and ale pie was amazing. Beer was good. Service was a bit slow. Would recommend.

Got off a bus at Victoria station, starving, so me and the two old folks ate at the closest place possible. Enter the Shakespeare. Before I even sat down, I made a quick trip to the loo and the first three toilets I tried were broken/clogged. Minus one star for cleanliness. Though fortunate that everything came out fast, the service and food were both mediocre. Fish and chips were ALRIGHT; the cooked mini-onion on the same plate had a surprisingly nice, citrus-y taste to it, but the peas were awkward to share. The shareable plate of onion rings, potatoes, and fries were also ALRIGHT. Minus one star for food.

Brutal service. He forgot our order twice and had to come back to check — all the while leaving us without drinks, which someone else brought by 10 minutes later. We then waited 25 minutes for our appetiser which ended up just coming with our meals. We ordered pulled pork nachos to start — they were stale Doritos(mostly crushed pieces) drizzled with a fake cheese sauce and one small heap of pork in the middle. Everything we ordered came out of a bag, nothing was hand-made or fresh. Super underwhelmed. Don’t order food here. However the drink selection was decent, and the beers/cider we tried, we enjoyed.

We went in to grab a drink before our self-guided London bus tour, as it’s right next to the bus station, but after being seated and then using their loo(down the stairs), not one person asked us for an order. We were in a bit of a hurry and weren’t sure of protocol, so we just left. Thanks for the free toilet, I guess.

At least there is free wifi. Dire hunger and the need for navigation brought me here a couple of weeks ago fresh from the airport and dropping my bags off at Victirua Street Station which is right across the street. I wish I would have known it was a chain, but once I received the menu I was so hungry and tired that I just stayed. I had a pulled pork sandwich which was pretty alright but it was on this whack bread. I did have a gun and tonic which was refreshing. Even as a chain, the service was really lacking — it took a full half an hour after I finished my meal to get my check. Eh For the price, I would go somewhere else.

Boycott this place. The only place in the UK which has ever served me cold tea. It was as though the waitress couldn#t be bothered to use the kettle, just used the hot tap and then didn’t have the patience to let it run until it gets hot, and just thought«ah, that’ll do» when it was just about lukewarm. Then I had to ask for milk and after waiting for a while, decided I had to get it myself. As for the eggs benedict… The sauce was rank. I wouldn’t even eat that when I’m drunk. I scraped the sauce off and just had a plain egg(at 7 or 8 quid) The egg was good though, so kudos to the hen.

We stopped in for dinner. It was great! Fish and chips were exactly as we expected!!! We returned a few nights later and had a few drinks. No Irish coffees but we’re not in Ireland so had some vodka sodas. Met some pretty chill English people that were playing drinking games, got pretty faded, had a lot of fun Convenient location, probably 3 minute walk from Victoria station directly next to the Z hotel which is another fine establishment I may add. Bill was reasonable and staff was super friendly!

Most atmosphere I’ve found so far in Londonin a pub. Great spot for a single bevvy for a girl on her own in London.

This place gets a solid three stars… nothing more, nothing less. Yes, there were hiccups. We ordered a chicken pie and a meat pie, and got two meat pies. When I tell you the mashed potatoes were ice cold, I mean that they literally were taken from the freezer and not heated thoroughly. Awful… BUT alas, four tiny words saved the day: steak and ale pie. It was honestly good enough that I was glad we had two and didn’t have to share… blessing in disguise! Filled with chunks of meat in a thick brown gravy and encapsulated by a crispy/flakey crust, this pie was hands down the best thing we ate in all of London. My fiancé genuinely didn’t think I could finish it as the portion is pretty big(imagine something slightly larger than the palm of your hand and 3 – 4 inches tall) but there was no shot I was leaving even a bite behind. We didn’t mention the pie mishap since we absolutely loved what we ended up with, but told the waitress about our chilled mashies. She brought us a plate of piping hot potatoes and with the side of steamed veggies and pint of London Pride, our meal was then complete. In a pretty touristy location near Buckingham Palace and Victoria Station, the food and experience were much better than expected! Insider tip: log into the WiFi and you’ll see a coupon for $ 5 off your meal. The coupon will be delivered to your email if you signup for it and you can use the voucher immediately on your phone.

I came here as part of a group of 8 last weekend, and we all did not like the service. Since we were in London, we all wanted fish and chips, and we were all paying with cards, so we wanted 8 separate checks. My friend, a Londoner, said it’s normal to do this. We did ask after we ordered instead of before, but our server was so unreasonable. She said«I don’t have time for this» and switched with another server. The fish and chips was nothing special and they didn’t give enough tartar sauce. The peas were bland and so were the fries. Again, nothing special.

I’ve been to see Wicked at the Victoria Apollo 3 times and each time I’ve taken a large group of high school kids to dinner here before the show. Great spot for kids to get a good sit-down/pub experience in London and super convenient to the theater. Service was a weak spot, the Chicken & Mushroom pie is the highlight!

Great deal on tasty thin pizza is only downstairs but get your beer upstairs. The beer below sucks and the service is just horrible. Everyone is pissed off here especially the patrons. It was the rudest experience I’ve had one the UK.

Just ok! Nothing special, trust me! Your typical pub fate but terrible service. The worst thing were the signs all over telling you to watch your purse and bags because of thieves. Closed circuit TV’s were everywhere too. Seems like they have a major problem in this pub! I would avoid it. Plenty other great pubs in the area.
