Great beer and cheap, the place Lord Lucan was seen before he disappeared off the map.

A good middle ground between a dingy, rustic old pub and a bright, modernized ale house. Cramped but friendly, even to us Yanks. We got fish & chips and a meat pie, along with some ale and cider. All of it was both delicious and reasonably priced.

Really solid after-work pub. The crowd was super lively and the beer selection was excellent. Coming here made me feel like a true London salaryman.

Great little pub if you’re looking to have drinks after work. It can get quite crowded, and I’ve been pushed to hang out on the sidewalk… but I don’t mind as long as the weather is alright! We had a few drinks outside and stayed for a couple of hours, watching other patrons. It’s quite amusing if you think that most of the people there are probably complaining about work!

Traditional, smallish London pub in an area of Belgravia that seems pretty quiet. Lots of Bentleys with personalised number plates around. Lunchtime clientele reflects this punters talking with educated rather than estuary accents!

Free Wi-fi. Great beer. Nice décor. One of the better pubs I visted.

The Plumbers can be ok if it’s not too busy. Otherwise it’s pretty painful spending an evening having people push past to get to the toilets(which sometimes have a tendency to fragrance the rest of the pub). It’s much better when there’s a bit of breathing space ie. early in the week after work. Oh yeah, in the summer(like some of the other pubs in the area) they have a pavement monitor who makes sure you stand inside the barrier outside the pub. So even outside you get the squashed in feeling!

The Plumber’s Arms has the unworthy distinction of being my favorite pub in Belgravia. This is due to a number of factors – cheap-ish drinks, heavy wine pours, the secret upstairs room and the droll artwork of various plumbing-related activity on the walls. It’s also very well heated. Be warned, if you’re not into the suit-y after work crowd, you won’t be into the Plumbers. But if you like watching slightly depressed lower management getting pissed, you’re in for a treat.

As far as work locals go, this place is always buzzing with my co-workers having a swift half 3pm Friday, which could be a good or bad thing! The Plumbers is your archetypal old man’s pub, slap bang in the centre of suburban Belgravia, which is rather like a ghost town in middle America. You can almost hear the rustle of an errant hay stack chortling down pristine Elizabeth Street due to the clandestine, quiet nature of the area. Perilously close to Margaret Thatcher’s abode(oops, did I let that slip?) Grab a pint of Pride and debate its history. At 9.45pm on the night of 7 November 1974, a distressed and bloodstained woman burst into the bar. She was the Countess of Lucan, who had fled from her home at number 46, leaving behind her three children. Interesting, eh?!
