Food was good, but over-priced. Service was slow and coffee was cold. The staff really wasn’t the warmest.

We stayed at the TAJ51 across the street so this was one of the closest casual restaurants around. Despite the Unilocal reviews, we still gave it a try since traveling with a toddler doesn’t give you too much time to wait around. We stopped by for a late lunch/snack around 2:30 pm, the restaurant wasn’t very busy but the entire place had a very heavy smell of fried food. The air circulation is very poor so needless to say you will smell awful when you leave. I ordered a fish and chips, for my surprise in came in a wrap form. Unusual and a bit bland but not terrible. My husband had a shawarma wrap and it was ok, our toddler loved it so much we picked up another one a couple of days later. The customer service is nothing to brag about but its convenient and it could be worse.

Could the service in a restaurant be any worse? The staff here is just terrible. The food is average.

The first impression was a strong greasy smell when we entered the restaurant at around 12 noon for brunch. Service was ok, and they changed my daughter’s drink that she did not like(berry smoothie — no sugar added) without issues. I enjoyed the French toast that I ordered and the scrambled eggs were standard good. My daughter found 3 small pieces of bone in her chicken sandwich(the sandwich was ok to her). My concern however, which made me write this review, is the lack of cleanliness of the teapots; I ordered Earl Grey tea and my wife green tea. It was unexpected and I don’t think it should be acceptable. Thus, the 2 stars(I would have given it 3)

Have to say, I’m surprised by the low reviews. Working nearby, I find this is a good place for a casual sitdown work lunch, in addition to being a good laptop café in off hours due to free wifi. You can also grab a sandwich(and get it toasted, a key point) and head off to St James Park on a nice day. The only thing is that it can get chaotic when you’re navigating around the cashier area, because it’s also a the path for food coming out of the kitchen. Service has been fine. One time they lost my order of chips, so it came when we were done eating everything else, but they also took it off the bill. If you’re in the area, where there isn’t much food-wise and most of it is Pret-style chains, Royal Quarter is a recommended option.

Average food, not bad but nothing special. All day breakfast available. Very bread heavy — pretty much bread with ever meal. No obvious gluten free or bread alternative options on the menu(but didn’t ask). Service is slow and disinterested

The food is mediocre at best, but the service is flat out awful. Royal quarter doesn’t have a clear idea of what it wants to be. Generic and tasteless offerings but at an up market price that matches the pompous name, derived from its location, which itself is an indication of the lack of creativity present in this place.

Well… they serve coffee. I probably should have read the reviews before coming, but the person I was meeting with chose here and I just kind of came along. It’s a wide-open neighborhood coffee shop with lots of tables. Either order at the counter or wait for the waiter to come to you. And I mean wait. After he took our order and brought our first round of coffee, we never saw a staff again. Ever. And we sat there for a good hour and a half. They never asked if we needed anything, came by to refill our empty water — zero. So service, non-existent. However, the cappuccino I had was nice and strong and there’s free wifi and they’re clearly not going to bug you about working there all day if that is something you want to do(again, they’re probably not going to bug you about anything.) They also have a pretty normal food menu but we did drinks alone. So for hanging out or getting work done, it’s a little better than sitting in a Costa or Starbucks all day, but honestly, not by a lot. As long as you have no expectations for service, you’ll be fine.

This is a nice neighborhood spot, abuzz with people and energy in the morning. Super cute café, very convenient to the hotel across the st(and better priced!). I popped in to grab morning pastries for my family and ended up staying to have a proper English breakfast. Staff was friendly and courteous, bfast was solid, as was my latte.

I’ve been here on two different occasions, and never had the best experience, but neither time was terrible. The first was with friends for a coffee in the café-end. Good coffee and very tasty(and cheap!) cookies. We were shown to seats quickly but service was slow, we had come at a prime time though. The second was for lunch with a friend, this time in the restaurant. The food looked good from what was on show, and the menu items all sounded appealing but slightly expensive… The portion sizes definitely weren’t worth the cost, but service was ok this time(which was important — only an hour for work!). Despite its size, my egg wrap tasted good. The décor is very clean and light, without being soulless, helped by the floor-to-ceiling windows. However, this doesn’t make up for the food’s price for the amount that you get. Go there to ‘impress’, but only if you don’t care about the price — or if someone else is picking up the tab.

Food and displays look great. Has free WiFi so that’s a bonus. Got a pre mix salad duo of avocado and Greek.

It was right between my yoga studio and work. After my morning yoga, I really want to hang out here for some relaxing breakfast. It occupies a triangle shape corner of a building and has all glass exterior which showcases the chic interior. It was full of promise. However, it felt really flat on delivering a good meal. I rallied some co-workers to come here and check out my new discovery. They do offer cold and hot sandwiches, salad and some daily specials. I opted for toasted lamb sandwich. 3 – 4 pieces of warmed up lamb between cold buns with nothing fixing was not what I was expecting. Other’s food didn’t look overly appetizing either. We didn’t feel satisfied after the meal, but it costs us each about 10 pound, which I think was totally unjustified.

I was craving a cupcake and found this place on the way. I tried the vanilla cupcake. It was £2.50 which I thought was a bit much since the cupcake was tiny. It didn’t taste very fresh and the icing wasn’t too flavourful. It didn’t really satisfy my craving. It wasn’t terrible, but I didn’t finish it.

Similar to other reviewers: really bad food, and staff who don’t seem to care. It looks nice though, probably OK for a quick cake, avoid if you want anything proper to eat, or pleasant staff.
